Really, the mystery of RS's little game becomes clearer and clearer. But I still don't understand how he sucked GT in as far as letting him publish his column. Surely they are aiding and abetting what he is doing?
I'm sure that only a small percentage of the VP playing public pays attention to what goes on in any of the online forums, so Rob's still A-OK with most players. As far as GT goes (shrugging) anything that gets folks to visit their site is just good business. If the info there happens to be right, so much the better.
I can't imagine THAT many people would arrange a training session with Rob, so I keep scratching my head over "where does the money come from?", and "where is this all going?". If he didn't NEED it (trust fund, or something), then why be so pushy?
One thing I don't think we'll see from Rob is training software - he'd have to write the RNG himself. Would be nice to see all those special plays in one place, though.

Anyone who tries it and fails just doesn't have the WILL and DETERMINATION. Not his fault!

A con man always has an answer. Why? Because he gets a lot of practice when his marks start coming back to him and asking questions about why the system is failing.

I recently read that Rob claims that he was asked(before Jean Scott was) to be the "name" attached to the Frugal V.P. software.

That man will claim anything. He invented electricity and the internet (along with Al Gore).

This all really amazes me...Here you all are talking about how it is all random, winning hands that is. Now, anyone who has played VP for any time at all KNOWS this is true. It is ALL the "Luck of the Draw", due to the RNG. ANYONE with any brains knows this.
THEN you have ol Bob Dancer, and others like him, claiming to be able to show you how to BEAT VP!!!!! How can you BEAT a computer????? How can you BEAT the RNG???????
You can't.....plain and simple. It's all pure, dumb luck. Except for your choice of cards to hold, and thats the ONLY choice you get.......

You are right about the RNG. It makes video poker completely random. Because of this you are not trying to "BEAT a computer". You can compute the odds of any card showing up and any time and deivse a strategy for each and every game-paytable combination that optimizes your expected return over time. For a few paytables with expected returns OVER 100% you can win. The reason a few of these games exist is that very few people take the time and effort too learn the appropriate strategies. Many years ago there used to be lots of these machines. Not so many any more as strategies have been made available to anyone who wants them.

I think the same reasoning can be used to explain the general reduction in paytables over time, even in games that have negative returns to begin with. The casinos aren't trying to increase their take, but maintain it because of better strategies being used by more players.
