Re: Interesting Blurb?

So why is it so stupid????It's not stupid, it's illogical. There is no "up side" for a casino to rig a VP machine and plenty of "downside".  The vast majority of these games are negative, so the house already has a built in profit. Add the fact that 99.99% of humans make errors (taking into consideration those that think they don't), plus those that don't know, can't or won't play with computer perfect strategy and you have at least a 10% house edge. Creating software that could turn VP jackpots on and off would be an expensive and formidable task.  It's not worth the investment it when all they have to do is put the games on the floor and players will play anything with a jackpot no matter how rare.If you honestly believed VP machines are rigged, would you play them? I surely wouldn't... Â
Hi Phil. I've been playing VP for many years and, contrary to what Billy suggested, I am no fool. So unless my Video Poker IQ goes down the more I play, I am truly convinced the game is not fair any longer. You can't possibly think it remained the same in the last 10 years or so. I know it's hard to continue playing a game if in the back of your mind you suspect rigged, therefore some hardcore ( perhaps addicted) players reject the notion. But ask yourself why so many people lately are beating this "rigged" drum ?? Why?? If you can give me a reasonable explanation, I'd really appreciate it!
You continue to play a game you insist is "rigged" and then argue you are no fool.

I've posted about this before, but I think there is something different about the server based Game Kings at the Borgata. I don't think they are "rigged", because I have seen royals and big hands hit, but they never seem to give you a good run of quads like some of the older 9/6 JOB slant tops over by the Amphora Lounge. Those machines have been there since the Borg opened and I always seem to do better there than on the Super Double Bonus on the server based machines. I still gravitate to the SDB game because of its higher theo at 99.69, but sometimes wonder if I should stick to the $1.00 JOB on the slant tops.

There does seem to be a small handful of folks on this site that feel that way, but relative to the hundreds of thousands of video poker players, that is hardly significant.

If you play VP long enough, you will see all kinds of things that a "reasonable" player would think is unusual. With practically limitless combinations, anything can and will happen and the odds of something happening are the same on every deal. We humans like to think we are in control or at least understand why things are the way they are. We develop theories, strategies, doctrines, explanations and even deities to explain or control our experiences. When it comes to random, there are no explanations. So far VP math in our universe is infallible, but even math has limitations because we can't play into infinity. The casino can lose too. What they are betting on is the house edge plus player errors will pay them enough to make a profit. If your casino is still open, this worked out.

People who believe stupid things aren't going to be good players, aren't trying to be good players and are passing along misinformation. I don't care if they get angry.
I care that they don't infect newcomers with their superstitions.

Casinos don't make money off losing players. They make their money off of winning players. Once you understand that, you are able to get to the next level.

It also might be that proponents of math and logic gave up arguing with people who insisted their new square wheel worked better than the traditional round ones.

I also think most would like to be able to express their thoughts without being told they are fools. How can anyone hope to learn anything if they are constantly being berated? Logic and congeniality are much better teachers than insults.

Ever try using logic or congeniality on a mule?
