As far as I recall, the biggest difference is what to do with two pair. At full pay or in NSU, you hold and hope for a Full House. Lesser schedules and you hold one pair and discard the other, if you play at all.
In full pay, you break two pair because a full house is only 3 for 1. Full pay is above 100% because it's the only pay common schedule where quads are 5 for 1 and that's worth over 6% versus 4 for 1 quads.
You should hold two pair if full houses are 4 for 1.
You should also hold a 4 flush over a pair if the flush pays 3 for 1.
Thanks. I should have just said NSU as that's the only VP I've been playing for awhile.

If anyone out there feels like calculating the probability of going 4 sessions or 24,000 hands on airport deuces and not hitting deuces at least once, I'm all ears. So far, I haven't done it and even hit deuces 2 or even 3 times in a single session. A wild guess on my part would be a 1 in 20 chance but I'm probably way off.

16,214 to 1. Or 1 in 16,215.
Olds, the probability of 4 Deuces in Airport is 1 in 5347.73, so to go 24,000 hands in a row without any is expected to oxcur...
(5346.73/5347.73)^24,000 = 0.0124 = 1 in 88.97

Your results in Deuces Wild will primarily dependent upon the frequency of quad deuces and royals. We both play a lot of VP. One quad deuce every 5,000 hands seems about right to us. On a long day you can expect to hit at least one. We have both gone three long days without one, but it's very rare. 24,000 hands without one is a very long dry spell. In a year's play, we both hit about 2 royals a piece. We like DW because it's exciting and the variance is not over the moon. My wife switched from Jacks or Better because she grew bored waiting for a royal. I was a DDB player which has it's own horrors. Deuces works for us.Major strategy changes in DW are in the holding of two pair. When you get down to the 96-97% games, there are a lot of subtle differences between the games depending on the pay schedule. None of them are earth shaking. Anyone who plays 96% quarter games doesn't worry much about minor accuracy, but I would guess that's obvious. If South Point or Red Rock was in our town, we would play better games. They're not, so we play what we have and do our best to limit our cost to play. Whatever happens playing quarters is not going to change our lifestyle. The 96.77% quarter DW game is nasty. I hate it and will do anything to avoid it including playing single coin dollars at 98.9%. My wife will not play single coin under any circumstances. She doesn't care about the odds. Quad deuces love her and she hits them all on time. She's also over royaled this year. Truly amazing...
