Seen a guy at the MGM Detroit go thru this ritual; Holds all five cards from left to right, then unholds all cards from right to left, then holds all cards from right to left, unholds cards right to left, holds all five cards from middle card two each side of middle card, then two outside cards, then unholds in the same manner. Finally holds the cards he wants to play.
I asked him what the purpose was and he said that it confuses the machine so it cant concentrate on what he finally holds. I didn't notice him win anything, but he was not losing real fast with all that hold/unhold business. Guess it's a way to slow down your play.
It's crazy to think someone would actually spend the time to do this for EVERY hand. It sounds more like an OCD issue than a strange ritual.
Also, I agree with Ms Marie. It sounds like a recipe for errors! Holding and unholding so many cards, mistakes are bound to occur.

O.K. gang lets ease up now before we get accused of being nasty and hurting someone's feelings.I agree w Ted before someone adds a few coins shy of a dollar ora few pages shy of a book or accuses all of us of being silly and immature orsomeone shuts down this topic!please note: all of these clever one liners were directed to the individual described who holds and unholds the cards repeatedly when playing vp, convinced he can confuse the machine, and NOT about any forum members! We would NEVER intentionally hurt feelings of any forum member!

So, it looks like the concensus is that all of the little playing rituals people have are silly, except for our own.

I think the tin foil thingy has some validity.
I am experimenting with that and bringing it up with the 3 chinses twins from different mom's that now live in Tampa and host a game show locally there.

Looks like one of tigers mistress's may be the dude that was once well liked here. ????? The photos look similar to what I see in the news.
Guess he dumped the romp around town guy bozo and went for the money.
I see another OJ simpson murder type case brewing here.

So, it looks like the concensus is that all of the little playing rituals people have are silly, except for our own. Speak for yourself Mr tinfoil Victorias Secret. My only rituals are to make sure it's the gane/denom I wanted, put in my card and readjust my leg position every so often from sitting so long. It's the newer slot machines with the more ergonomic setups! In case anyone was wondering, Denverdude and rolanddude are not affiliated in any way.
