Re: New Daily Contest Format - Survey results
ONE WORD BORING. I play for fun, if I wanted to play in a real contest with real money I'd go to a real casino. This web site should be for fun and choices. thats all enough said but can't wait for the 7 day challenge at the end of the month. one game for all those days straight, all day, every day all the time what fun that will be

Webman has spelled out how the daily contest format will be modified and after that, ONE WORD: TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT.

I agree -- BORING. Especially Deuces Wild. However -- I believe I read that the monthly contest will still have game choices, unlike the daily contests.
However -- I believe I read that the monthly contest will still have game choices, unlike the daily contests.
Correct, and thanks for pointing that out. The first post in this topic explains that as well. Some people may prefer to only play the monthly contests, and play other non-contest games the rest of the month. There are already a number of people who do that.

I think this is fair (posting the schedule of upcoming contest games), and also adding a DIFFERENT game on each day will make the monthly more fun. i.e. - offering only 1 game (TDB) for a week in a row gets pretty 'old' quickly, and those who don't like that game will get bored or not play...thanks, webm....

Ill give it a go. Many people on this site CHOOSE to subscribe for gold membership. The primary reason for this is to rid yourselves of the pesky adds +chat+ tracking. Anyhow, gold membership doesn't "entitle" you to win. Going gold doesn't mean that you've invested into some kind of business adventure with dividends payable. There's no authority involved in going gold. With that in mind, please stop crying . Its exhausting to hear the belly aching each day. Let the chosen people continue to run the BEST vp site available. Thank you, no needed.

My suggestion, switch off every other month. One month choices, one month not, that way peeps are happy at least every other month lol

I voted to keep the contest the way it was, with choices. I believe that it doesn't affect the daily contest that much, as by viewing the results of past winners, it is easy to see that the winners were usually playing the most volatile games like Triple Double Bonus.I think that the new format of the contest actually affects the Winner's Challenge more. Instead of being able to play a less volatile game to rack up the needed points for a Winner's Challenge point I must now play the game selected for that day. I believe that playing the more volatile games like Triple Double Bonus has reduced the Winner's Challenge Contest to pure luck (even with the best strategy, you still need a lucky big hit to make a point while playing Triple Double Bonus) and having the time to play at least 8 games per day instead of a contest of skill.

What has also happened is that, now, to win the Daily Contest, you have to also beat that handful of players that were playing the daily contest just to win the monthly Winners Challenge. I am not sure how big that number is, but I would bet that any daily contest winner was not playing to just compete in the monthly Winners Challenge.
But since, in all my years as a member on this site, I have NEVER won a contest of ANY kind, for me, this point is moot.
Oh, wait, does beating WebMan at VP in Vegas count as a win? I did get his hat..
