Re: vote for BIDEN and his party
SMR, i notice that in your many posts on this subject;
-you have never criticized the chinese for sending the virus here and lying about it
-you have never mentioned what biden proposals are different than trumps and would be effective
-never denied that your wish is to 'shut down the country'
what you have been consistent about is your dislike of trump. you dislike his leadership style, you describe as authoritarian. but, that is exactly the solution you are seeking. instead of trump, you want unelected scientists to decide the country's fate. how many more suicides, drug overdoses, child abuses, undiagnosed medical problems have taken place, because you want the country shut down.
you show little sympathy for the folks who lost their jobs and businesses, through no fault of their own. instead your position is 'they should reprioritize how they spend their money'. how big of you to an hourly worker or someone who life's work is in their business, that you want shut down.
this chinese virus has been with us for 6 months and is not going anywhere soon. as someone who is 66, heath issues, i am in the vulnerable group. but, i have found it relatively easy to stay safe. wear a mask, wash hands all day, use lots of sanitizing solution and keep everyone away from me. today, was the first time in months, a new person entered our house. air conditioning repairman made it in 10 feet, he wore a mask and everything he touched was cleaned with bleach, when he left.
now, if there are folks who want to put themselves at risk, so be it. by now, everyone knows the basics. you advocate financial responsibility, as do i. time for everyone to take responsibility for their own actions during the pandemic.
the good news is deaths are way down and more than 99% of the population has little to worry about. infections may be up in some places, but these are largely those younger than 50, who less vulnerable.
while medical makes progress the country cannot shut down.
be smart, take precautions, be responsible for yourself and don't the media and dems scare you.

olds, enjoyed and agree with your post. delayed gratification, pay cash for everything, live below your means, pay off any debt and save/invest, those were the traits that were to be admired and copied. somewhere along the line, these qualities became 'old school'.
was it 'lifestyles of the rich and famous', was it wall street advocating not letting home wealth sit idle, was it folks like trump who became too comfortable with debt or just folks wanting everything now and not waiting. i know this, it cannot be blamed on today's millennials, it started long before they came around. something changed and not for the better.

If only we knew the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth from our own government. Dem or Lib, it will always be the same. Tell the people wat they want to hear, so that we may be reelected. Overall, I am relatively pleased with the current administration. Cracking down on crime being one of my biggest concerns. I still say build more prisons and I will buy thousands of dollars a year in prison lottery tickets with only a 50 percent return. And while we are at it, there will no longer be felons with rap sheets as long as a roll of toilet paper costing lives, ruining lives, and bleeding the economy of billions of dollars. Still plenty of land in this country to house them away from law abiding folks.

Seems like I noticed the change in the mid 1970’s. Somehow around disco era. Of course interest rates were sky high we didn’t have a lot of money then, but Every dime we could get we poured into 18.25 percent CDs with long maturity dates. I remember running from bank to bank to get higher rates, busting CDs, with minimal penaltys, I even against my better judgment delayed paying my town taxes and eating their interest rate, to dump that money in an 18 percent cd. Wouldn’t do it again though and after 6 months paid the tax. We even did other crazy stuff like selling our fun extra cars for cd money, worked my behind off in a small one man business 40 hours a week besides my 40 at work, of course no kids yet so we were able to do it. The wife tudored kids besides teaching and on and on. Unfortunately, many were drowning in high debt with terrible interest rates. I don’t need to even mention which party was in power at the time. One funny last thing, as interest rates started dropping a bit and there were still bank wars, we furnished our very poorly furnished old new first home with a new microwave, tv, various appliances, other furnishings just from bank account hopping as those were the giveaways. Not just 8 buck toasters, though we got those too and a toaster oven from opening tiny savings accounts.

We haven't heard one sentence from biden that made sense that came from his brain. It is obvious he is being kept under covers, in the basement , as some sort of figure head with no thoughts of his own. Even his wife has had to shut him down. He has refused interviews and will not show his face other than to read something prepared by someone else. Anyone in his right mind should realize that a vote for biden is a vote for a shadow government. Yes, Trump has an ego problem, but the ego wants his job and everything he does to be a success. If he succeeds, so do we and all Americans. He has been attacked since the vote was official. The scared angry swamp does everything in their power to destroy all the good he does. #TRUMP.PENCE.2020

Notes, nobody knows for sure the true origin, natural or man made of covid19, only that it has been grossly mismanaged by the trump administration, therefore as far as I am concerned it should be called the trump virus. I have posted before that imo Biden is not what I consider to be the perfect choice for president but he is kind and compassionate with a lifetime of experience in public service. He has a long list of endorsements from others far more politically savvy than I am surprisingly including a growing number of Republicans.
Why do you want me to deny "my wish to shut down the country"? That is not my wish. The country has already been shut down once. All of the jobs and businesses lost appear to be in vain because trump failed to act early enough and just when we were getting the trump virus under control, trump and a coalition of Republican governors pushed many parts of this country to reopen too soon including the State I live in, Texas. A couple more weeks of shutdown in Texas and other states that are hurting now would have made a big difference.
Additionally if trump had of early on led the effort to encourage people to wear masks it would have made a huge difference. Instead he was more interested in how he would look entertaining kings and dictators sitting at the resolute desk in the oval office. Now that he is fighting for his political life he is starting to wear one at least part of the time. All during this pandemic trump has been more of a hindrance than a help in putting this pandemic in the rear view mirror. In his minds eye he thinks his response has been perfect. As in all of his behaviors no mistakes were made and he is beyond question. A growing number of people are finding the courage to stand up to and disagree with him.

SMR, still, no criticism of china. even european countries disagree with you.
courage to disagree with trump? give me a break. the dems, the never trumpers, the media have doing this since he announced his candidacy.
you may get what you desire, joe biden for potus. the guy w/out a functioning brain and has not voiced displeasure with the rioting, looting and anarchy, taking place every night in liberal run cities across america. not to mention the exploding murder stats.
just for fun, instead of bashing trump, why not list all the policy changes that biden has proposed that you are in favor of. i never read any posts favoring biden that give a reason to vote for him other than anti trump or joe is a kind old man.

Notes, I wish you and your family the best. Regardless of what facts involving trump I point out you are not going to change your mind. And as a never trumper you are not going to change my mind either. One thing is crystal clear in 2020. We have a major catastrophe on our hands and the 2020 election is going to be a referendum on trump and how he dealt with the trump virus. All other issues will be secondary. I am not particularly looking forward to having biden as the next president as much as I am looking forward to getting trump and his family out of the oval office. I enjoyed the back and forth. I will catch you again some time on some other topic. Maybe next time we will be discussing something we both agree on.

SMR, i agree to end the conversation. it would have been much easier if you had just announced you were a never trumper from the beginning. i would not have wasted our time. enjoy your retirement.
