Re: Hollywood - Joliet, IL
Step number one to winning at video poker or anything else is to begin each session absolutely convinced that you are going to win. Does it work all the time? No, but for some reason that I have no explanation for it dramatically increases your chance of winning. lol I have no problem with this, and it makes sense on many other levels aside from the actual issue of winning.....people who "Smile, and have pleasant personalities, who are positive and outgoing" are obviously a lot more fun to be around, and are a lot easier to like and get along with......and furthermore, there a many, MANY benefits to being a "positive" thinker, not the least of which is to a person's health (both mental and physical!)So, once again, I totally agree with you chatts ....... and I also can say, unequivocally, that I have MANY times begun a video poker session with a positive outlook and expectation, many times have I said (both to myself and even outwardly by saying the actual words) "TODAY I WILL WIN!!" etcNever works lolOn the other hand, many times, after swearing or cursing "this g--amn piece of crap machine", or subtly given the "finger" to a IGT "Bucket of Computerized crap", I've seen four of a kind suddenly appear on my screen and I feel the hot redness of embarrassment flood my face! The beginning and end of the argument is this......unless you actually truly approach the game of VP like Bob Dancer (and assuming you also have the cooperation of the casinos to the degree that BOB does in Vegas that allow him to continue with his endeavors), it truly comes down to LUCK and only LUCK. Again, assuming you also learn the proper math approach to each game, and always play the best possible paytables (things we continue to call "SKILL"), the only thing that will further ensure profit is LUCK.

DaBurglar you have ALWAY doubted me and you have ALWAYS been jealous of my success with video poker. And now you are making sarcastic remarks about me being "the most disciplined video poker player ever" makes your true colors really shine. I was once asked by a coworker why I never ate a donut when someone brought a box in and I said that I just didn't want one. Human instinct would be for a person to take a donut or two but because I am disciplined enough not to have one, I don't have one. Just because a box of donuts is there, this doesn't mean you need to eat one. Now you are mad because you again have started asking stupid questions and your anger is only multiplied because I choose not to answer these questions. I don't know what the difference is in the sessions that I do not win, I don't care. I can see why people who are much smarter than I choose not to get into these debates with you. You didn't hear me crying about being in a blizzard, it's winter; deal with it. Geez you'd think this was the first winter you've seen snow?Thank you Ted, once again you just validated everything I have said about you while further shooting yourself in the mouth.....lol I have not ALWAYS doubted you (I'd prefer to pretend you do not exist but YOU insist on making that impossible), but you betcha from this point forward I will, You are really hung up on "JEALOUSY", which says a lot about you.....I already GAVE you that one Ted, I said quite honestly and clearly, that IF you really truly win 80% of the time playing the game that the rest of us play, while the rest of us LOSE at rates close to 80% (which a few other players have now admitted along with me, and I am sure we'll hear others admit this as time goes on and more people read this and think about it) then YOU BET, I am jealous! But in case your reading ability abandons you again, my use of the word "IF" implies and denotes DOUBT that you actually do win 80% of the time......so my so called "jealousy", therefore, is non-existent since your 80% winning is non existent......understand? or do you need some flow charts and graphs too?You choose not to answer my "stupid questions" because YOU CANNOT, not without further digging a hole for yourself or making you look even more ridiculous.......And as for crying about winter, that's just you showing your true colors....you are such a spiteful idiot you cannot even distinguish someone simply making conversation and wanting to engage other reasonable NICE people in discussion about an issue that impacts ALL people, whether they can get around or not....."deal with it you say"? What do you do when people approach you at work or everyday, and say "boy it sure is cold today huh Ted?" You tell them "DEAL WITH IT?" Ted, I'll make you a sincere offer.......starting right now........since it is obvious I am at odds with you on many fronts, and it is MORE than obvious that you absolutely cannot stand my guts or anything about me (even though it is based on ONLY what I have written on this forum, and in actuality NEITHER of us really knows the other.....)Let's just agree from this point forward NEVER to post in response to the other???What is so hard about that? You and I just avoid each other? If you want to claim whatever you want about anything you want, go ahead and do so....and if I want to talk about the weather, or the steak at GAllaghers, or how lousy AC is, I do so....but neither of us will engage the other directly....This is for the benefit of everyone else who I am sure are totally sick of this idiotic banter.......if it was just you and me, I'd go all day and forever with you, but that is not the case.....this is a public forum. There are other people's feelings and rights to consider here.......

DaBurglar you really do put your heart and soul into your posts, it's just too bad things aren't working out for you with video poker. So I say that I have a positive attitude when approaching a gaming session and you basically tell me to blow it out my ear while when chattycatty says the same thing you embrace it whole heartedly. I'll rent you my lucky underwear, if you promise to wash them before you give them back. I doubt you have a sincere bone in your body.

I guess you should have sweetened the pot by offering to take her to the casino. That usually works for me.

Attitude has nothing to do with video poker success.....Bob Dancer says so, but even without Bob's validation, whether someone is happy or sad or a nice guy or a twerp, the game does not take that into consideration.I cannot actually believe this discussion has now devolved to this......Ted, enjoy your 80% winning ways, and relish in the fact that IF IF IF you really truly honestly 100% for sure ACTUALLY win that often, I am envious. I think everyone would be envious when it is obvious NO ONE else, not even BOB dancer wins that often.Your winning that much should make you IMMUNE to any feelings of anger or resentment or frustration when someone like me (or anyone else) tells you that you are totally full of crap.....seriously, why on earth would you care what ANYONE thinks, especially me, IF IF IF you really win that often???As I said, I'd be laughing all the way to the TITO machine if I were able to win that often, all the time, every year! lolJust enjoy it TED, and also be glad in the fact that even those of us who might doubt you are secretly glad that the casinos might actually be losing a few bucks!

I'm glad that casinos are losing a few bucks to me, yes. Your feelings of anger, resentment, frustration, or jealousy toward me don't bother me a bit.
As for laughing all the way to the TITO machine, there was one time recently when I couldn't; the denomination on the ticket was too large for the machine to redeem. If you need verification, Vman can check it out for you because this happened at the Hollywood Casino in Maryland Heights (St. Louis) MO.

Daburglar you did kind of throw me under the bus in regards to your attitude discussion you are having with Tedlark. Your punishment for throwing me under the bus is you must go out and by a copy of Pharrell Williams song "Happy" and listen to it continuously for an hour before your next ten VP sessions. Guaranteed to but you in a great frame of mind for winning VP. I don't care what Bob Dancer says about it. I don't know anyone that does not like this song.

Hey Daburglar, I enjoy your comments and your logical reasoning. Maybe the laws of science don't exist for some or maybe the next ten years will be different odds for us and we will go 8 for 10 and Ted will go 0 for 10. Keep smiling.

I'll have to listen to that new song; being a long time Rolling Stones fan, I had my own version of that title in mind. Also a good one....lol
