Re: Bonus Poker Days
Happy New year gang. Have either of you guys tried 17/7 joker kings? I have been playing it lately with mixed results. The long term return is 98.44%. Quads hit about 4 times as often as job or bonus poker, but they only pay 17. Usually, in the course of a session, I hit a straight flush at 50 for one and sometimes a wild royal at 100 for one. The 5 of a kind comes in half as often as in deuces and pays the same at 200 for 1. The real royal where I play pays 940 for 1, but many machines pay just 800 for 1. I have noticed some bad streaks of 30 or more hands with nothing, but I get those too on job and deuces. So far, I have lost less playing it that deuces and much less than job. 9/6 job is by far still my worst game as far as percentage losses go. If the Royals don't come as they should and you have quadless or nearly quadless days, your goose is cooked. Not just cooked, I mean burned to a crisp. No use sending it back to the chef. He will just laugh, and maybe buy you a cup of coffee to entice you to stay longer. Pardon my scathing attempts at humor. Sometimes, I just can't help myself.

quadless days, your goose is cooked.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------I still wrack my brain over why this should be the case. We should only be experiencing the most trivial of losses. Not getting blown clear out of the casino on almost each trip. But, I'm tired as hell of fighting this track record. I'd rather do DW dollars and have more fun if it's going to be a blowout the majority of the time and at least have the chance of the quad deuce. Must throw in the towel on dollar JOB, once and for all.

I wonder if the casinos have any idea how much revenue they are going to lose because of the new tax law. I wonder if they even lobbied against things like the State and Local tax 10k cap etc. For 2018 I'm done playing dollars 5 or more at a time. I don't feel like giving up 24% of my winnings either to the Feds and Ct. can kiss goodbye the 6 percent on my gross W-2Gs they have been getting for several years now.In prior years, that big check I wrote to the State in April at least was a Federal itemized deduction. Gone now. With the cap on the itemized deductions and doubling of the standard deduction many bigger or medium sized players like myself have just said forget it and are going back to playing quarters or nickels. Most people don't even know that the personal exemption has been eliminated for 2018 so if you think you are really getting a double standard deduction for free forget it.
I just realized that the big check I have to write to the state of Ct. this April won't even be able to be deducted for 2018 due to the cap. So even if i reduce my play which I will so no further
W-2Gs are generated, I'm going to lose that nice deduction for the 2018 tax year. Too late to control that now, but at least I can stop the bleeding on the rest of my Fed and State income taxes.

My post actually was meant as a reply on quarter deuces. I guess it really doesn't matter.
