Coves are supposed to be cool and wet. The one at Harrah’s is a sauna. With suboptimal pay tables.

Well. It's a deep hole. And I'm in it.
Returned from vacation to get "back to work" at Harrah's AC. The days' long 10X tier credit promo was on its' last day and the place was packed. The front desk was a-shambles with diamond customers in a fit over lack of associates. After waiting ten minutes and time of the essence, I gave up and was going to just start playing but then I remembered the VIP area down the corridor towards the Cove. I'm Seven Stars but certainly not a VIP, so I didn't think they could help, but they checked me in and I was soon striding past the beleaguered masses with room key in hand to Bayview 17th floor.
Planned on late dinner in the 7 star lounge but it was packed and they weren't taking any names full 2 1/2 hours before they closed. No room at the bar either. Curse the promo weekends when you can't enjoy the benefits you've earned!
All the 5 Star machines were occupied so I took a seat at a nearby Super Triple Play (hideous 8/5 DDB) and dialed up Five Play at quarter. Was slow playing but caught three quads in 20 minutes and then was dealt four 3s. I drew two kickers for a $1400 hand pay (no pic).
After a 15 minute delay in getting paid- attendant said cage 'forgot' to withhold taxes and had to go to main cage (how does that happen?)- I switched to vacant 5 star. Quickly lost entire HP proceeds and made ATM run. Also lost that by the midnight hour which is when the promo ended. I blew through my free play and converted rewards credits for $400 more. Ended up with 2250 tier credits during the promo, so about 22500 with the 10X. I did manage break 2500 TC after midnight for the 5K daily bonus...
I was going to call it quits and not play the next morning, but had a moment of weakness and secured more funds through cash advance (thankfully no fee for 7*). I was certain that I would reverse my fortunes. What followed was six more hours of high stakes battle that was akin to Custer's last stand. I lost twice the previous night's bankroll chasing losses. When double pay decides to "not play nice", it is a savage affair. I was reduced to going to 50 cent, then quarter denomination. It was a total annihilation.
4OAKs- 10,3,6,4s+4s/k,9,A,6,A,3,Q(dealt),Q,2,Q,7(dealt),9,5,K,Q. Everything but 8s and Js.
One straight flush.
4RF- 2, both whiffs.
Looking back, I guess it was technically a holiday weekend, so I should've known better.

I’m going to post on my usual thread in a moment. My only lucky charm is my Irish lass.
