Ending a Cold Streak w/1:165,000 hit

Post by Lucky Larry »

Its been a busy semester so I've had little time to post so a quick update. August Sweet C and I hit 3 RF including 2 nice 50¢ RF within a short time from each other in a mid-month trip. Our last trip in September (after several non-royal hand pays) I finally caught a RF on our last trip. October started out slow but ended up with 3 royals including 1-25¢ and with Sweet C and I hitting again within a couple hours on the same trip. Since then the weather here has not been cold but our play has been horrible. Ironically, October was the anniversary of our beginning VP play and I reviewed our play since the fall 2007. One factor stuck out - Dealt Royals.

Every year from 2007 to 2016 one of us had caught a dealt royal including 4 times in 2011. The 15 royals were split almost evenly 8 for Sweet C and 7 for me. So we had held on 15 dealt royals since Dec. 8, 2016. I have remarked to Sweet C multiple times since the review that we were "due a dealt royal" based on our previous average of 1/year. No such luck until this past quick trip. Then this beauty showed up Friday night just as Sweet C came to say she was ready to go eat. As she arrived I caught a nice 5 Aces and then telling her I wanted a few more hands the HEARTS showed up. Thanks Sweet C you are my Royal Flush Jackpot for life. A:heart: K:heart: Q:heart: J:heart: 10:heart:

You held the right cards... very smart!

You mentioned the weather down there ---- I spent Christmas in Houston some years ago and I was sweating the whole time. I don't think I could live there.

Probably, he was rounding to 1:650000, and mistyped.

Yeah, I was lucky they self held. My first dealt royal years ago, around 3:00 am, i was so tired I kept looking at the cards and saying to myself I think I hold all of them. It self held but hadn't triggered the hand pay until I hit the button.

The weather is all relative, we hit an all-time high of 82 for the date two days ago. I don't think I could get used to the weather up north/west mountains. Too cold and snowy. I can travel there to see snow and come home to a nice warm enjoyable. Besides everyone has AC for the other 10 months of the year.
