Memory
No, not the kind that retains Strategy Charts! The kind you put in computers!I almost bought the wrong kind. My computer will accept up to 1gb cards in the PC2100 compatibility range. But there are two types of this memory: High Density which is about half the price of the other type labeled Low Density.I looked high and low to see if my computer would run with the high density variety and couldn't verify it 100%. Warnings are that the high density will only work in about 10% of the computers. It is sort of a "factory second" type memory. If it doesn't pass the top of the line tests, it is labeled high density and shipped with the disclaimer that no guarantee is made for compatibility with specific mother boards. But what convinced me to go with the low density was a comment I read that stated that even if the high density modules would work in your computer, the speed would be much MUCH slower than low density hardware!I run FireFox for Internet Web Browsing and am eating massive amounts of memory by keeping as many as 8 to 10 tabs open all the time. Here of late, I've been getting "low memory" messages every once in a while, so thought it about time to upgrade the AMD jalopy.I'll take no chances. I have two slots for memory that are now filled with 256mb and 500mb cards. I'll replace the 256mb with one 1gb card and hope that this will solve my problems. By doing that, I'll be adding 750 meg or therebouts to my system or in essence, doubling it up to 1.50gb. that should help!

I'm not sure if you have bought it yet, but thought I would throw out a recommendation.
I've bought memory from crucial.com many times in the past and they are fabulous. They help you choose the right memory for your computer, have FANTASTIC prices, and ship very quickly. And no, I don't work for them.

An expert is either a drip under pressure or someone 20 miles from home.
