The news this morning is all about Covid breaking all records with cases around 250,000 a day as average. Even first responders are waiting hours and hours to get a test. Now that’s Insane. I had a pcr test just before Omi appeared at CVS drive thru with no wait and results in 24 hours. Forget it now. And Ted. It must be my alien DNA. The specialist said just go with it as it cannot be removed. By the way. There is some truth to your statement. On both feet, I have two of my toes grown together. Passed down through the ages from my Great Grandfather.

I was planning on contacting you about Phoenix. However our plans have changed due to omicron variant. Cases are skyrocketing and we have decided to cut our trip short. We are in Laughlin right now until the end of the year and will head home New Year’s Day. Because we are from Canada we do not want to get sick in another country. I read where one leading doctor said everyone will get omicron eventually. We are both fully vaccinated including the booster.

We were in this same area when covid first hit in March 2020 and had to cut our vacation short and it is happening again. We had plans on going to Phoenix, then down to San Antonio and on to New Orleans but will scrap that part of the trip. We have been on the road almost a month to date and have had a great time. Christmas Day my wife had her name called here at Harrah’s Laughlin and won a 50 inch smart TVs.

So we will head back home until the world becomes a safer place if it ever does.
Case, glad you ae having a great trip. Understand your concerns re omicron. You don't want to get stuck in the States if the border gets closed again. I was thinking of you when I-40 and I-17 and other roads were closed because of snow and ice. Glad you seem to have avoided the bad weather. Please let me know If you ever get down this way.

Hi guys. Yes we made it home safe but not right away. Actually just got home yesterday Jan 21.It became impossible to get a covid test and have the results back in less than 72 hours. So we decided to stay a bit longer and went to Biloxi on the Gulf of Mexico for awhile. Finally we were able to score a test in New Albany Indiana and have the results back in 1-2 hours. So we booked a date that gave us time to drive with a few stops. We drove to Tunica and stayed at Horseshoe and because they were Caesars we stayed free. Then we stayed at Horseshoe in Southern Indiana another Caesar property and also right outside of New Albany.

The next morning we took our test and then drove to Firekeepers casino outside Battle Creek Michigan. While driving to this casino our test results arrived by email and we were both negative!!

From Battle Creek the Canadian border is just 2 and a half hours and then another hour to our home. It was bitter cold when we arrived home but January in Canada is the coldest month.

Some stats
Dallas was the worst traffic and took along time to cross but on the east side we went to our first Buc-ee's and were impressed by the food and size.
We drove a bit over 6,000 miles
Gas cost 677 dollars
Most expensive gas 3.67 and cheapest 2.73. Mississippi was cheap and Nevada was expensive. Arizona was higher than normal as well
53 days away from home
Hotel costs 1,040 dollars
Paid for 8 nights and had 44 free ones. The time spent in Biloxi we had free rooms with Caesar and B-Connected.
Food 1,500 dollars out of pocket (some food purchased with comps)
Won tv in draw
14 states and some twice
Casinos visited:
In Vegas 9
In Laughlin 5
Michigan 4
Biloxi 6
Other states 14
Total casinos visited 38
Royals 2 (both my wife as I was shutout)
We did not come home winners financially but had a blast and was the trip of a lifetime. We look forward to our next trip when things settle down in the world.

Ditto. All’s Well that Ends Well. Look forward to seeing you guys up East when the Covid dust settles. Stay warm. not much better here. 9 degrees last few mornings. Hint….not that you need to. Mohegan rooms allow you to crank up the heat to 80 or down to 60 if you like it cool. We are at 3.45 a gallon average right now for gasoline. Better than Sonoma. My sister pays 4.79 regularly. Some have disappeared, but still plenty of 98-99 percent quarter games at Mohegan Sun. Haven’t been to Foxwoods in 2 years, but at last check the 98-99 games were dollars. No quarters.Did some quick math. Ballparked the average per gallon price for gas you guys paid divided it into 677. Got 208 gallons. Divided that into 6,000 miles and you guys got nearly 29 mpg average. Good going. Dallas traffic knocked it down some too I’m sure. Glad you were able to find a quick and negative pcr test too. Stay safe and well…..Olds….PS… my 2019 Elantra I bought that mid year already has just under 65,000 miles. Almost all Mohegan Sun 😬
