Questions for you DDB experts out there...
three aces in a full house - do you go for the four of a kind? I do, I'm just not sure it's correct.
three 2-4's with an ace- do you hold the kicker? I never do but I see a lot of others holding the kicker while going for four of a kind. A couple times it has come back and bit me by not holding the kicker but I figure I would rather have two shots for the quad.
Any feedback appreciated.

Any feedback appreciated.Aces over full house....toss the pair and go for quad Aces.EV 3-aces = 63.89EV full house = 50It is a little closer if your full house is Aces over deuces but still better to hold the three Aces only.EV 3 Aces holding low kicker = 58.72.With 3 Aces and a low card not a full house...still just hold the Aces.EV 3-Aces = 62.75EV 3-Aces holding the low kicker = 59.46Trip Deuces-Fours with an singleton ace....toss the ace for a better chance at the quads. The payoff for 2-4 with an ace kicker doesn't justify the risk.EV 3 low cards no kicker = 37.59EV 3 low with a kicker held = 33.93

Speaking of DDB....I've poured some time in on single line DDB this morning on the site here and Caught a Royal....A Royal Butt Kickin'!Not one quad in 773 hands.I made some observations during this streak:I never drew into a hand in which I initially held the wrong cards but caught the error and corrected before hitting DRAW.I got 3 Aces 4 different times and didn't convert.I won when dealt a pat hand.I sometimes won when fingers didn't work and I hit deal before correcting the error. The morale? Play Blackjack

Just wanted to chime in here. MikeA is correct with regards to your question(s). The only exceptions to this rule is when your playing Triple Double Bonus in which you hold the kickers along with the trips. But I don't normally play this game as all I can find are machines at around 98%.

good to know Kickers...thanks
You realize around here, 98% would be a huge payback machine!

LOL! Yeah, it's not the worst out there for sure. There are some DDB machines around here that are only 6 - 5 if you can believe it, and people actually play them!!

buttttttttttttttttttttttt...if you don't have any better options!!!????
In Iowa, there is virtually no difference in pay tables between machines. Now some casinos have better pay tables than others but I don't think I've ever seen any individual machines that carrried the better pay tables.
I do know enough not to play joker poker or deuces when the royal is only 4000 credits. I hit several royals at Elko, NV back when they used to have flights around here and those were worth 4700 credits so at least I know better than that! That's simply too low of return.

Hi, I am an exclusive single line DDB player. Do yourself a favor and get a training program. It will save you bundles in the long run. I played VP for years before Winpoker and VPFW came along. Even though I had read books by other authors I was not playing even close to correct strategy.
An example for you. For at least 5 years I played DDB before buying these programs. In the hand like you mentioned I always held the boat before I found out that holding the aces was the correct play. There is no way to know but I imagine I lost out plenty.
By the way, unless you are playing full pay DDB you need all the help you can get surviving this game.
Good luck...
