Re: How Long Has VP Been Declining?
Since they re-engineered how to deal, my Royals have fallen considerably. From what I understand, once you hold cards and deal, the deck is re-shuffled before you get your cards. Previously, it dealt off the top of the deck after holding.

Video poker should really be a loss leader as we usually tend to be the biggest degenerates in the casino, and the mistakes alone can add 1 to 5%+ easily to their juice depending on the player. The ones who don't pay attention to the paytables are going to make awful holds anyways, like holding 2 or 3 cards to a normal flush on ddb, or holding 3 cards and the kicker when it's not TDB. They need to just let the well practiced junkies have the full paytables maybe on a few machines, and the crumbs will follow from the ploppies who don't even know what expected value means on all the others.
The disrespect we get from the paytable juicing is ridiculous. I see very few people put multi thousand dollar tickets in any machines at locals, but the ones that do are always either 1. Ultimate X/Super Times Pay/Hot Roll players, and 2. high limit room Lightning Link. The disrespect we get would be like blackjack players being offered 1:1 blackjack with a 2% commission to the casino per hand. Between the bad paytables, the 250 coin short coin royal flush penalty for no betting flexibility, the bad mailers, they really don't value our business at all. They only want the senile seniors who want nothing more than to fork over their social security checks to Willy Wonka and Mr. Monopoly, or the Asian coin-babies laughing at their 88 misfortunes. It's the result of corporate/tribal bureaucracy mixed with toxic high debt-to-equity ratios where they want every penny they can squeeze regardless of the harm to the player experience.

Interesting if true. I thought it was always a constant shuffle even back in the old days. I do hate the new bartops.

Same here. Search for serial vs parallel dealing to find previous discussions. The parallel method hasn't been used in many, many years afaik.applepear86 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 04, 2023 5:33 amI thought it was always a constant shuffle even back in the old days.
But other theories are available for why the new machines are rigged. Maybe they're controlled by a server. Or the RNG isn't as "R" as it used to be.
I don't play enough volume to "draw" (no pun intended) any conclusions from my royals. If I play a million hands at single line, my royal total could be anything from 10 to 40 just because of ordinary fluctuation.

Excuse me dinghy, but do you mean: "But other theories are available for HOW, possibly, the new machines are rigged?" And not saying: "why the new machines are rigged?"dinghy wrote: ↑Wed Jan 04, 2023 8:06 amSame here. Search for serial vs parallel dealing to find previous discussions. Unless there is absolute verifiable proof, theories about machines being rigged are nothing more than theories.
I think talk in these forums of possible video poker machines being rigged has been beat to death.

Besides lowering play tables, progressive meters have been slowed.

HA! I should have known that your answer was rigged...dinghy wrote: ↑Wed Jan 04, 2023 6:12 pmSorry, you're absolutely correct. There's a reason for that. It used to be that I would write my first five words, and I would already know what my next five words were going to be.
But lately I write my first five words with no idea of the next five.
