Royal flush on the draw?
I recently got a royal flush, but how I got it is a blur. I think I may have discarded all my cards and got the RF on the draw. I say this because I don't remember holding any cards, yet all my cards were showing held and the Jackpot/Call Attendant screen came up. I was a little stunned at what happened. I know such hands are rare, but I was wondering if anyone knows if this is what happens when a RF comes on the draw (all cards held automatically). Or if you are dealt a RF, does the machines automatically hold the hand for you? I was playing an older, slant top type machine.

Congrats, I can’t speak to every machine or manufacturer but I’ve had two dealt Royals on the initial deal and the machine has held them automatically and locked up with the Jackpot/Call attendant signals - and that beautiful music….All I had to was sit back and enjoy

Thanks for the info. I wasn't sure what the heck happened. I'd post a picture, but I'm not sure how to post an image on this forum.

Congrats!
Dealt royals always show the cards as held, but redraw royals are not standardized afaik. Some machines hold the cards, others don't.

Not quite always. If a royal flush is not the top paying hand, a dealt royal may not be automatically held. I was playing a deuces joker game a few years ago at Seneca Allegheny, and was dealt a royal that did not self hold. The top payout in that game is not the 4000 credit royal, but 10000 credits for four deuces plus the joker.
As far as redraws are concerned, there is no alternative but to hold everything - the hand is over.

Congrats. One of the best shocker moments in the game.
Had one myself Monday of last week for my third. Usually don't mention mine since I carry no phone for pics.
But I wanted to mention, for you, the odds of this happy event happening. 649,850 to 1 as I recall.

No, but as I posted a couple of years ago, I did ht this one…………Unfortunately, the casino has long since reeled it back in. These days, I am back to smaller quarter play. I am tired of the State of Ct. stealing 7 percent of my gross gambling winnings with no ability to deduct losses like on the Fed side. Speaking of the Fed side, I am also tired of the Fed forcing me to itemize my deductions to be able to deduct gambling losses, then at the same time limiting my itemized State and Federal Tax deductions to 10,000 bucks. That is a double kick in the pants as I cannot even deduct most of the State taxes I paid to my State who stole it originally. Their loss……my smaller loss going forward. By the way, congrats again to the poster who started this thread!!! Vipvpr!!
