What if people from another country win money?
What happens if a friend comes up to visit from Mexico and wins some money playing video poker? Does he have to pay taxes or something? Would it depend on the country?

I guess he must give half to you because he is your guest. That is the right thing to do.
Makes sense to me

Since I've lived in New Jersey my whole life, Las Vegas is another country.

Ever been to Alabama? That might qualify as another country.

Coming from Canada, got pillaged for 40% of a winning over $1199 last year. The attendant came back with a form for me to sign, so I can try to get it back through the states tax system. That's why I don't play a progressive pot over $1199, or $1 or more slots for a jackpot win, the casino will take half.

Half?! Who does that money go to?Is that only because you are from Canada or for any foreign country?
