Bonus Poker Question
I have a question for anybody that can answer it. This weekend while walking around in a casino and checking paytables, i found a bonus poker game. I checked the paytable and to my surprise i saw10/8. Naturally i jumped and said the casino must have made an mistake with this paytable. But i double checked and saw that 2 pair pays 1 instead of 2. I didnt play the game but i checked it out in vpw and this is what i foundThis game, because of the 1 instead of 2 for the 2 pair pays a misarable 92.3% instead of the 105.3% it would have payed if the 2 pair paid 2 not 1.Why is this difference so big more then 10%just because of the 2 pair???I would have thought that he 10/8 for sure made up the difference for the 2 pair lower pay. But im wrong.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You will hit a LOT more "two-pair" hands than you will FH or FL hands. That is the payoff (two-pair) that almost makes JOB a Positive game.

I saw one like that too and everything was the same as BP as you described. 10/8 and 1-1 on 2 pair. It was called something different though. I did give it a shot and hit 3 FH's and took my lucky money and ran...hey, it was a busy night and not many open machines!

I've seen this BP game many times. It is a rip-off.
Two pair accounts for over 25% of the payback in BP. Clearly, dropping 1/2 this return will have a big impact on your results. The FH and FL typically add just over 1% for each increment in the pay table. So, increasing from 8/5 to 10/8 increases 5-6% while the two pair reduction costs close to 13%. Not a good trade-off.

Shadow, this is the exact machine I had asked you about awhile back. It's got all the markings of an IGT machine on the masking but it isn't the real McCoy as you pointed out about the 2 for 1 two pair payout.
