I have been an avid poker player for 30 years but can't figure out what I am doing wrong on this site. I know what to hold and what to discard but most of the time I have a hard time even betting my bet back. What am I doing wrong???Thanks for any help~Tish

Tisher you say 30 year poker player. Is that Video Poker? What games are you playing, there are some on here with an extremly high varience. Case in point AC JW. You can, it seems, go for days before you get a good session.

I know I have friends that are excellent at texas hold'em, but when they sat down and played video poker, they were doing everything wrong and losing their money extremely fast.
From what I understand, there are different strategies for every video poker game, so make sure you know what to incorporate with each game. Good luck as always!

Started playing poker with family as a teen then went to vp. I also have been playing Texas Hold em online for many years. I realize all games are somewhat different but am curious how the leaders get into the thousands of points. I hit my first royal the other day for 4grand but as usual it dwindled.

Don't feel too bad your luck can change. I hit my first RF for the year on Jan. 4 and my wife hit 6 before I hit one again in April. As soon I as I hit she goes on another streak (5 more) including two on the same machine within 12 hours before I got another one. I can't seem to catch her. Although last week I finally had a RF dealt to me on the deal hand. So perhaps my luck is changing.
Keep at it, play the right hand and they will come when "fate" says it's time!
