Going for Flush

Post by spxChrome »

I'm sure its been answered before but I was debating with a guy next to me playing DDB 9/5/4.  The question is do you hold a mid pair (250) over a 4 card flush or drop the pair and go after the flush?

8h 8s 3h 10h 4h

8's or 4 hearts?

The flush hold is best for this paytable. Once again this can be determined by any of the software tutor programs. The difference is over one credit so it would be a big error to hold the small pair. The difference gets greater and greater if any of the flush cards are face cards up until you have 3 for a RF, then those 3 cards become the better hold.

So what about one of the low pairs for (400/800) like

2h 2s 3h 10h 4h?

2's or hearts?

SPX, Same difference still a flush draw.  Approx .47 better.
