triple double bonus or double double poker?

Post by sam4343 »

Out here on east coast on these two games they only pay 30 and 40 for full house, and only 25 for flush.Depending on what machine u sit at. Question if any body can answer. TDB only pays 10 for three of kind, DDB pays 15 for three of a  kind. ON TDB if im dealt 44422 do i keep if on machine that pays 30 or go for four of a kind or is it different if full house pays 40? What would be the different for DDB? if dealt the the same hand? I know the pay off for TDB is2000credits with four kind with kicker and only 800 credits with kicker on DDB.  I used to keep full house AAA22 till some body told me to throw the pair away and go for the four aces plus kicker which i have gotten when throwing away the pair this was on DDB. They just came out with the TDB not to long ago here. I have read on this forum AAA22 keep AAA2(on TDB) and draw to forth ace to get 4000credits.(Boy have hard time only drawing one card!) I didnt know if it made a differents if full house pays 30 or 40. I know i only should sit down at 40full house machine but not always available. If u have any answers for these two different machine would apprecate. Thanks

You can find the answers to all these questions at vpgenius.com, just select the game, modify the paytable and check the results.

shadowman, went vpgenius.com been there before. Today tried again. Tried it under  TDB, just to let u know there i had ace jack queen all different suits it said keep ace then 20 30 hands later had same hand all different suited ace j q  it said to keep q j   just make sure i back spaced to the ace q j had earlier and they were all different suited just like the hand had right now, other half was standing next to me and showed her she said like that makes no sences. I double check to make sure i made no mistake on the cards, and there was, was telling me to play it totally different. Ive used that site to try help wife to learne how to play but that made no sence to either one of us. Now it confuse me on how to play that hand. I know if i have q j suited ace not same keep the q j. But what now? Appriecate u writing back to begin with!

The reason you can have similar hands played differently is due to what are called "penalty cards". These are usually the cards that are being discarded and cannot be part of the draw. For example, say you are dealt "as qc jd". If you just look that these cards by themselves you may make the wrong play. What if the other two cards are the "3s 5d"? Note that these discards will have no effect on the number of possible winning combinations if you held "qc jd". However, they do impact the "as" hold. They reduce the number of possible flushes, straights and straight flushes.

Now consider what happens of the other cards are the "9h 7d". Now, neither of these discards impacts holding the "as" but the "9h" reduces the number of possible straights you can get holding "qc jd".

I suspect if you go back and look at the hands in question you will find that the other two cards were the difference.

Read your reply, im unable to go back and check now. I do understand what u are saying in regards to straights, flushes, and so on. I guess i only lock onto the big cards ace q j and not if there was 9 or ten there for straight possibilties, but it makes secents now that u explain that way, why it would change the cards i would hold, and would change the out come of change of cards i would hold. Thanks!
