2 pair in Deuces Wild

I recently downloaded VPW and I'm confused about the strategy for Deuces Wild.  As I've read, one of the basics is to always split 2 pair, but when I play the 25/15 or NSU game, the strategy keeps telling me to keep the 2 pair.  What's going on?

The rule of thumb for the various deuces games is to keep both pairs if FH and 4oak pay the same, otherwise hold a single pair. Another common hold is 4 to a flush vs. a pair. Hold the pair is the flush pays 10 and go for the flush if it pays 15 (5 coin bet).
 
Keep in mind that the entire paytable impacts strategy. It's always best to practice the actual game you play to understand as much as possible.
