8 hours/Same DDB Machine=4A's/RF

Post by ljtopfer »

My wife and I just returned from a trip to our favorite casino. We double barreled (taking turns) and played one DDB (7/5) machine for 8 straight hours. We tried a low pay machine that often gets "hot" late Wednesday night. She started with her last money a $57 ticket in a 25¢ machine around 11:00 p.m.   Played well getting several quads, a straight flush, and then hit 4 A's. Twenty minutes later hits another 4 A's with 2 kicker. Less than 15 minutes later hits another 4 A's with a kicker. Unbelievable! At 12:23 she hits a RF. (We laugh because she always claims the machines hit better late at night.) She cashes out 2K+. Now she is drawing a crowd. Around 1:30 we begin double barreling to keep our concentration and I hit quad 4's and 2's both with kickers within an hour.   Cash out and put another $100 in to play. Several players are waiting for us to get up but we just keep switching. Around 6:30 a.m. we begin to see fewer hits. Then another 4 A's. Finally, DDB gets cold and we switch again. She changes to DW (12/10) and within twenty minutes (while I getting us hot chocolate) she hits 4 deuces twice.   At 7:30 we head to the room exhausted with another big ticket and having never lost any money. What an incredible experience eight hours on the same DDB machine!!!

Four times we hit 4A's and we hit every quad except the 3's. After lunch we return and play another 3 hours on $100 hoping to hit for the cycle/3's. We hit quads but never the 3's before we lost our money.

Hope everyone gets to experience a trip like this at least once in a lifetime.

ljtopfer, THAT is the kind of upbeat story we like to read on this site! WHERE is your favorite casino? I have had luck sticking with a winning machine and also returning to that lucky machine on another day or trip. Whatever works!

that's the randomness we like! hope you wrote down the machine number on top,as they sometimes move those winners around,or replace them with newer machines, wow!

Marie,
We play @ Isle of Capri-Lake Charles and probably too often but it has been a very successful year as Uncle Sam will soon prove to us. We usually go 2-3 times a month and are averaging almost 2.5RF/month so far. There are five or six machines that we seem to find are extremely prone to heavy random hits. Most of the regulars know which ones and they get played more often than many of the others. Interestingly, some of the "streakiest" are lower pay. Not all of the machines have the same pay table for the same denomination. But many of the pay tables are better than normal for their denomination for La. and certainly many of the casinos on the Strip. The casino has three dedicated 9/6 DDB $ machines while other multi-game machines pay 9/5-8/5 right down the row. It also has only three full pay JOB/DW/Bonus and a dozen others with lower pay tables. Ironically, the dollars get little play as most people go to the other LC casino Lauberge du Lac which has 99% return on all $ machines. But, their (LDL) quarter/half are much lower.

We are off to Vegas soon taking our daughter and new son-in-law to Vegas for a Christmas present. He has never been so it should be a real experience. Hear we might even get snow! Wow! Maybe the snow will bring on a "hot" machine again like it did this week. It was snowing while we played in LC. A freak of nature which I would happily let happen again.

Best Wishes and Happy Holidays to everyone!

Although you did have a nice lucky streak, the problem with playing on a low paying machine in Louisiana is that you are double penalizing yourself. Not only are you accepting a low payback percentage, but the tax on gaming winnings in Louisiana is extraordinarily high at 6%. You got lucky and I congratulate you, but as a rule I avoid VP in Louisiana, particularly 7/5 DDB.

Nice hits.  Was playing a ddb quarter machine at Binions last year around New years and had a machine that hit quad aces 4 times, also hit awk once, quad 3wk twice, 2-4 several times, many 5-ks and three straight flushes if my memory serves me.  I had a concert to go to so had the machine turned off.  Once I realized that the concert would be missed I went back to the machine and it had gone cold.  The math types will tell you there is no such thing (I know they are right).  Anyhoo, the darn thing gobbled up $200 and $100 more the next morning so it had definitely stopped paying.  Fun machine but no royal.  I think I was up almost two grand when the dust settled.  Had another fun machine at Arizona Charlie's in September.  5 cent DDB.  This one gave me quad aces, 2wk four times and a multitude of other quads... This experience was quite odd because someone else hit the progressive royal for around $470.  So I turned to my wife and said when this machine stops hitting I am out of here and sure enough I got dealt four to and hit the royal for $404.15.

DDB is a streaky game that takes my money approx. 3 out of every four times.  The rest of the time I am either about even or doing pretty well.  A very small percentage of the time I hit these machines that play like the ones you and I have described on our posts.  These are the experiences I play for!!

Rascal,
I understand your statements about low play but the only other Lake Charles casino is even worse. Unfortunately the powers to be in Texas ain't smart enough to understand/(don't care since their political base is opposed to gambling) the tremendous loss in $$$ by not having gambling. The 6% tax is refunded each year since we are not residents. We just file a non-resident tax income tax form and get the 6% back each year.

Happy New Year.

ll,are you saying the 6% rooms tax, etc. can be gotten back in las vegas,ac,etc. if you're not a resident of those states?
