Argosy Empress Casino Joliet, IL

The Empress Casino, owned by Argosy Corp. has sustained major damage to it's facilities today caused by a fire that has been burning for about 7 hours. The complex is undergoing a 50 million dollar renovation and the fire allegedly was started by a construction worker welding near a grease duct.
 
The casino barge itself was evacuated not long after the fire started today. This could be a HUGE loss for Argosy as a conservative estimate would be that it generates 20 million a day in revenue.

Oh, didn't hear about this fire. I was in Joliet in 2007 I think and had fun at the Empress with some friends. Played a little poker and roulette - James Bond style. The will lose a lot of money during the renovation but I am sure they're gonna make up for it after the re-opening.
