RE: Airline Prices!
Decided to take a quick weekend run to vegas the end of April or first part of May. I'm flying out of Orange County California to Vegas...about a 55 minute flight. Tickets for myself and my wife combined are running about $400!! I checked several different airlines and same story. I've got all sorts of free room and play offers in Vegas, but holy moly these ariline prices are outrageous. I keep hearing the stories that Vegas is desperate for Gamblers, but do they realize the Airlines are contributing to the downturn? I guess I'll just run to Palm Springs..1 hour by car and spend my Video Poker $$. Anybody else experiencing this?

Ughhh! Not if I don't have to. LAX is not the most "User Friendly" Airports. OC airport is 15 minutes from my house, parking is easy, security is a breeze ...LAX is at least a 2 hour expedition between driving there, parking, security etc....No thanks.

Don't pin it on the airlines, as you've said Vegas is hurting for players. Call the casino you're staying at, ask for a host (if you don't already have one) and tell them your issue. Request a slot/chip voucher upon check-in with your proof of flight costs for $400 worth of play as a travel incentive. It will show goodwill from both parties...the casino gets your action, you get to stay and play there. Casinos have been doing this for years, not just in the bad times.
