Tunica Trip
Headed to Tunica for a few days. Stayed at Sam's Town due to comped rooms. Pay tables poor except 9/6 Job.. Went to The Resorts Casino (what a stupid name for a casino) But 8/5 Bonus paid off very well for me. Was able to turn $50 into $989. I started playing quarters then moved up to dollars . I hit 4 OAKS, 2 Pair, 4 OAKS - and would just consistanly hit these. No Biggie Royal but the money is still good... I'm not overly impressed with Tunica- The casinos are 10 miles apart-literally!!! Do they have some master plan that some day it will all be one big resort town?? Anybody else have Tunica stories??

I go to Tunica on a regular basis and I always play at Harrah's just because they are the closet. I may start to look around though because I play $2 denomination and they don't have that many machines available at the $2 level. I believe there are 12 when you eliminate the 6 at the bar which is easy for me to do because these machines are terrible because of sticky buttons. I've been told the Resorts Casino is okay but haven't been there yet. I dislike Sam's very much and can't stand Fitzgerald's because of the loud music and the machines still operate on tokens. I've played at Horseshoe 3 times and have never been back. I have never played at Goldstrike so I may check them out on my next visit. I believe for a long time Tunica will remain to be what they are now which is not such a bad thing. I'm of the opinion that Memphis being in the shape they are in should put some of that wasted space downtown into good use such as the Pyramid and turn them into casinos. Have you had the chance to try the West Memphis casino?

I'm sorry but all I am going to say is that Tunica is pathetic. If I am going to Mississippi, then I am going to the coast, one of the best gambling destinations in America outside of LV and Laughlin. Like the first poster wrote, the Tunica casinos are too far apart and the pay tables are terrible. Casino action is best where casinos are highly competitive, and in Tunica it is almost like they are all in cooperation, not competition. If you somehow feel the need to go to Mississippi in the first place, check out the coast. Not just good VP but also a nice destination in itself.

Yea the coast has nicer casinos, the HardRock is really sweet but the VP is gross. I couldn't buy a 4oak. I go to Tunica every so often and it is retarded how each casino is miles apart. Last few times I have went I loose my bankroll before I can get up to the room and then win it all back with one or two hands and quit. So for me its all or nothing at Tunica.

Don't know where you play but its pretty much always like that where I go in Tunica, feast or famon, rarely anything in between. Catching a royal on anything above $1 denom where I play is a extemely rare treat, I had 1 in 3 years of hard play.

Ouch! Before I finally hit another one this week I had only 1 RF in the last 220K hands and I thought that was bad.

to Tunica! Youch! I am very new of TP, started playing (with uneducated stupidity) in Wendover in 2008. My BF - a loooooong time VP player and winner of RF's in LV and Boonville - and I went to Tunica in early Spring 2009 and lost our combined bankrolls at every one of those casinos. (Sorry, cannot comment on Fitzgerald's.) Can't say a single good thing for VP fans, and I have no experience at live tables or slots. And oh, woe is me, I have also learned my lesson at Video Blackjack at the bar, which seemed like it would fun to play and maybe even a buck or two -- Just Say NO! Anybody have any thoughts on the video dealer blackjack machine? Isle of Capri just installed one in Boonville and I'm kinda curious. And cautious, too! Heading to Oregon in June for a month on business and would appreciate any advice for VP go/no go around the Portland area. Would also appreciate the best free online tutorials to play when you're stuck in motel room on a rainy Sunday afternoon!
