Shrevport Boosier City trip

Post by supas4 »

Heading that way next month and VP free 2 database is outdated.  I was wondering what VP looked like at the .25 to $ level at Samstown & Eldorado "I will be staying there"  Also if you know anything about the BJ that would be awesome too.  My games of choice are JOB and DDBThanksStephen

Louisiana VP is not recommended because of the tax structure on jackpots.

supas4,
We gamble in La. 90% of the time since it is the closest to where we live in Texas. At the end of the year, file a La. Income Tax form for non-residents and you will get all or most of your 6% back. Be careful with the form, call La. for assistance. Three years ago we got 100% back. Last year about 90% back and this year we are being audited by La. so we don't know yet but we hope to get all or most back. We didn't get help this year following last year's form and may have made a mistake on the form.

We have however; started playing more low denomination games to reduce our hand-pays (over a dozen last year). La. is "killing the golden goose" and when Texas finally gets gambling approved (only 10 votes off this year) La. casino's will wither and die.

Tax forms are downloadable from the state. Be prepared to send a copy of you G statements even though the casino keeps a copy. We got back about 70% this year but we had multiple G statements from La. and a pretty high fed. tax income. State uses Fed income to help determine what it keeps.

Don't know what part of La. you play but if you can play the Lake Charles area make sure you check out Isle of Capri (IOC LC). Not the fanciest but has the best low denomination (5¢, 24¢ and 50¢) that I have found in the state. If you only play $'s you better make sure you check out Lauberge du Lac (LDL)in LC. If has 99% return dollar and $5 machines. It also has high return 9X5 Spin Poker next to the high limit area across from the hotel entrance.

LDL has a Vegas quality hotel, pool, a lazy river and casino. IOC-LC's tower connected to the casino is nice, the Inn has just been renovated and is also nice.

If you know of better places close to SE Texas let me know.
