Royal Flush Suits
Hello everyone... Just joined and was wondering to all you multi Royal flushers
What is the most common suit that you hit i.e. spades, hearts, diamonds, clubs?
And how many of each if you can elate.
Thanks

The last few RFs (since Sept.) I can remember are:
Hearts(drew J), Clubs(drew Q), Diamonds(drew 2 cards), Diamonds(2), Diamonds(2), Clubs(2), Spades(3), Hearts(drew A), Diamonds(2). I can't remember back any further.
Last year I hit had 24 RFs in approximately 900K hands and hit 5 times out of 372 chances at 4RF. I play a fair amount of triple play and 5-play.
Oh, and I hit one this week on winpoker in Hearts(2).
Now, there's a lot of useless information.

Since I started keeping a tax diary in December 2002 I have hit taxable royals 69 times. (I have also hit a few non-taxable but I don't even want to talk about those.) I have never stopped to consider suits, so I am sorry to tell you I don't know for sure. What I have recorded is cards-to-the-royal and it goes as follows. In addition to posting in my diary, I also write a summary of the winning hand on the W2G, so the following info is quite accurate:
held one card: 1 royal
held two cards: 6 royals
held three cards: 39 royals
held four cards: 22 royals
dealt one royal
In addition, one of the above royals was sequential.
I have also hit quite a few royals in that same time frame (4+ years) during at-home practice sessions, but I do not keep records of these.
Casual observation would be that three-to-the-royal is my most successful hand, but of course I have been presented this opportunity something like four times more often than four-to-the-royal.

Wow.. That's a lot of royals! I only got 2 of them and they were both Clubs (puppys feet) The last one I went to the bar because I was thirsty and put in a twenty, I looked and it was 9/6... pressed max. I thought it was quarters though, After 2 hands I noticed that there were only $10 left then I seen that it was dollars. On the last hand I held 2 cards and then
"Call attendent" Came up after 6 hands! afterwards the bartender finally showed.
I came on this site because I am going to try my luck in Reno I don't live that close to play all the time. But it is good to see you guys in here.
Thanks!

900k hands? How often and how long do you get to play?
How many hands per hour do you play?

Well, 900K at 800 hands per hour (that's conservative for I imagine that Shadowman is more in the 1000 hands per hour range considering what I think is his level of play based on the quality of his posts...and that's a compliment!) he would have played around 1125 hours. If you consider that he is a pro or borderline professional, he's probably playing 6 hours a day. That would put him playing around 187.5 days a year.
That's a lot of time at the machine, but for a pro, not overwhelming.

MikeA was pretty close. Most of the year I live in the LV area and gamble 5-6 days a week and 3-5 hours a day. I do play a lot of triple and 5-play which increases the hands/hour singnificantly. I can play over 1000 HPH but I usually hit around 800 HPH on single play (700 on triple play, 600 on 5-play) with a few breaks now and then. Any faster and I start to make too many mistakes.
I consider myself a recreational gambler as I never play even close to what my bankroll would allow (.25 - $1 denom). I'm not in it to make a lot of money, just to supplement my retirement.
Rascal made a comment about 3RF vs. 4RF. You are dealt 4RF about every 2707 hands and 3RF about every 60 hands (of course, you don't always hold them depending on the proper game strategy). If you did, you would hit 3RF every 60*1081 = 64,860 hands and 4RF every 2707*47 = 127229 hands on average.

I just got back from Reno and played about 9 hours all together. I didn't get a Royal but had a lot of chances and had fun. Also I found out that you need to keep your wrists in shape as they tend to get sore and you need to get up every once in a while to adjust the eyes.
Can't wait to try it again!
