Will server-based technology affect strat
As server-based technology becomes commonplace, does that mean the end of the RNG totally or just as we know it, or neither?
I suppose this may have been a topic at sometime during the last 4 years, earliest mention I've seen is 2004, but since this is the system going into CityCenter, and in place at TI on select banks now, and likely everywhere eventually, does that mean strategy will be outdated?
"A casino could change some of its slot games during the week to video poker games, which are more poplar among locals. Casinos could change penny or quarter machines to dollar machines in anticipation of bigger crowds on weekends, much as they adjust table game limits, he said.
“Managing your floor is an art,” said McBeath, who ran the Bellagio, Mirage and Treasure Island casinos. “You want your floor to be dynamic. You want people who frequent your facility to see new product each time they visit.”

I know the difference between a slot and a poker machine, but they're all going to be server-based. You leave a machine, any machine for more than 4 minutes and it can be completely changed. You won't even know when a machine has been changed. Slot or poker. Every "advancement" is a step backwards, it seems.
Just for the record, because I don't have the time to jump threads to make this point, I never once said anything about any progressive betting systems, yet I got thrown in with Mr Piano and Scorpio, whoever they are.
Enjoy your week and good luck now and forever.
Oh, and the misspelling "poplar" is in the second article. I don't think he was talking about a cottonwood. Nice proofing L V Sun.

server based technology should have no impact on the play of the game. All it means is the VP program is downloaded from a server to the machine instead of sitting in the machine. The program (and therefore the RNG) will be almost identical to the current programs. Especially, the game playing part itself.

When I saw seagreen's post I checked for info on the RNG for server-based games, but I didn't see any. I'll go out on a limb and say that the RNG will have to meet the same requirements as for current machines.
A game and RNG download is the way the site games work, right?

AS TO YOUR QUESTION "NO". WHAT IT WILL DO TO THOSE OF US THAT USE "VP FREE 2" TO PLAN OUR PLAY, IT WILL DEFINITLY MAKE THE INFORMATION "IFFY" AT THE VERY LEAST.

It's not to the casinos advantage to confuse it's patrons. They will just go somewhere else. I doubt one will see changes being made very often even though they could.

Since there has been no reply, I assume it may be being considered that all time and money, particularly time, may be useless in the near future, regarding strategy and AP?
What a total bummer, unless it wasn't real to begin with, and you understood that.

All that time.................................and money, maybe, somewhat wasted
only good for the moment.
Glad I'm able to think for myself...................................
or I may have wasted my time and money.
Pick a "strategy" now..................................................
