Bellagio or Palazzo
Okay, we have refined our search based mainly on people's comments about location.
It's now between a lakeview suite at the Bellagio or a suite at the Palazzo.
Anyone care to weigh in?
The biggest down side to Bellagio seems to be that everything is fairly expensive there, beyond room cost (dining, etc). And there really aren't any affordable options available without leaving the hotel from my understanding.
But if we're prepared for the cost, how do the two locations compare in other matters?
Again, I'm not really looking for good pay tables obviously on this particular trip so that doesn't weigh in. If we want to gamble a lot, we'll head off-strip since they don't want to put good vp machines in anywhere close to central strip.
Thanks!

I guess what I am most interested in is the total quality of the experience for an anniversary trip, not a typical gambling trip.
Rooms, dining options, atmosphere.

I'd go with the Bellagio for the location, the fountain show, and the atmosphere.
The difference in price of the dining options between the two places is probably not enough to really matter, but at least with the Bellagio a cheap meal is just a short walk over the bridge to a half-dozen mid-sized and joint-type casinos.
The coffee shop at Bill's used to have great skillet breakfasts, not sure now though because it's been a couple of years for me.
Also, from the Bellagio, the walk to the south cluster of strip casinos is do-able.................and you're more likely to run into some TV/celebrity poker players at the Bellagio, also.
Good luck and have fun.

Ditto Lazyace, Bill's has great breakfasts at reasonable prices. Well worth the walk for the savings. For me the walk from the Bellagio to anywhere is long and tedious but I walked from Bally's to the Palms at least once. My wife prefers the Palazzo and if it were our anniversary I'd defer to her wish. The Conservatory is one of my favorite places. If I could obtain my wife's consent I'd remarry her on our 25th anniversary in the Conservatory with Big Elvis officiating with a gun. Reference to the board game "Clue" at no extra charge. Have a great anniversary and give us your usual brilliant trip report.

Since the room is just a place you are sleeping in, why don't you stay somewhere nice (but maybe not as expensive as the Bellagio) and save your money for gambling, a show or going to a few nice meals (like Andre's at the Monte Carlo or Rosemary's Restaurant)?
I'm not suggesting you stay at a dump like the Palace Station but a place like Harrah's or something... just an idea.

...or we could stay somewhere nice AND gamble AND go to a show AND go to a few nice meals.
That's the plan. And the rates are so good right now, half the last time I checked, so it seems like a great opportunity to stay somewhere special that would normally be out of our price range.

Eduardo, after my having many, many , many years of wedded bliss I offer this. This is HER anniversary.Complete dedication to providing HER with the most romantic, pleasure filled time is what matters. Stuff like Limo at the Airport with Champagne , Flowers and Chocolate for a start. From there I would look for the nicest room with the best view (not of the Strip). Wine and Cheese Platter in the room upon arrival and then you can take it from there. One note of caution, Gambling should only take place at HER request.
Men need to understand that Wedding Anniversarys are very important to our ( does not mean ownership) wives. Oh, a little gift would be appropiate.
Wishing you and your wife a wonderful time.

Where do you usually get your free rooms at?

Most of my good offers come from Stations (GVR, RR) because that is where I have played the most. Love the GVR rooms as well. When they are comped it's hard to beat that for a nice vacation.
Also the Hilton. It seems I can stay there free or cheap pretty much whenever I want to, simply because of their one bank of full pay loose deuce machines that are a magnet to me.
