Hello all, first time poster here.  With the recent gold upgrade, I was playing DDB and was dealt 10D, KD, 3D, 6H, 9C.  I held the ten and king, and go the yellow stop light.  Then I tried just the king and go the red stop light.  The correct play is to hold all 3 diamonds, why?  What do I want with a 3 of diamonds?  Seems to me that I should go for the royal or quad kings.  Thanks!

In VP you are never "going" of any particular results. You are going for all possible winning combination. The sum of the winning combinations divided by the number of possible draws is what is compared by the software.

In this case the difference between the holds is very small. The increased potential of flushes is what drives this results. Were you playing 9/5 DDB you'd get a different answer.

Were you playing 9/5 DDB you'd get a different answer.   Shadow, I adjusted the paytable on my Zamzow software to 10/6 DDB and it still tells me to hold only the K. I have the DB paytable set at 10/7 and it will tell me to hold for the 3FL hand. There's no strategy for DB + however.

You must have something set different. The correct hold is KT3 for 10/6 DDB and 9/6 DDB as well as similar versions of DB+.

I double checked the settings I had to make sure it was at 10/6, re-enterred the sample hand(s) and was told to hold TK suited for DDB and TK3 for DB. Jumping from 6 to 7 coins return for the FL hand made that extra penalty card killed me on some of the hands I played. Dropping the FL return from 6 to 5 coins made it hold the K only. I didn't find any error in my settings but you're most likely correct in your analysis. Thats why I'm still a paduan.

Ed, I also used winpoker. The reason I assumed you entered something wrong was I had the RF set up to 7000 from the last time I had used the DDB game. I must have been checking out a progressive. I got KT at first but after correcting the value for the RF I got KT3.
