Cruise Report-RF Again
Just back from our family cruise to the Caribbean. Played Seminole Hard Rock for the first time on Halloween Night prior to sailing. No luck but a great show - all the costumed players and staff. Staff tech told us the SHR takes in $3M/day with all of its operations. Cruise was interesting. Pay tables on the Princess were low but we expected that. Played our allocated amounts each night. No big hits Sunday or Monday nights. Kids hit well on regular slots. Tuesday, we knew we had a family dinner so we decided to play in the afternoon. I was down to $20 and committed to making it last by playing 1 coin per hand(I know! Never play one coin but they didn't have lower denoms.) Walking around when the proverbial "play me" hit me as I walked by a machine. So I sat down and began DW. Playing one coin/hand was dealt a RF/deuce on the second hand. Moved to two coins/hand. Hit a Straight Flush a few hands later. Moved to 3 coins/hand when I hit 5 kind. Cycle is really hot so I immediately move to 5 coin. Three hands later the deal is 3-RF. I didn't anticipate anything and the machine locks up with progressive RF for $1511. WOW! Call over to my wife who is playing a few machines away and just smile. She looks back and says "What did you hit? Don't tell me you just hit a RF!" (She's jealous since I hit one on our last cruise.)Wednesday the luck continues. Playing Triple Bonus - couple of quads over an hour but still barely up from the $40 initial. Dealt pair of 4's and hit the 4s AWAK for $500. More money for Ms. LL who can't buy a hit. Thursday night down to $30 and begin playing 6/5 JOB. Play for 2 hours on JOB going down to one hand ($1.25) left 9 times before going back up to over $70. Last two nights no hits only losses for both of us. Still going home up over $1K. Ms. Lucky who usually beats the heck out of me has no hits the entire trip and it killed her. Two cruises - two RF's. I could get use to this "Cruising Thing"!More importantly we had a great time celebrating our daughter's 40th with all the family. Never made it to the Saint Maarten Atlantis casino. Day at Orient Beach with family was more important.LL

Great trip report and glad you came out ahead! I don't know how they manage it but all cruises are limited to one royal per couple, or less, NO MORE! I think that is written somewhere in fine print in their contracts!

Marie,
It sure seems like you are right on that issue. I did see one other RF during the cruise although another progressive was hit sometime on day 5 of the cruise. A couple were playing the machines behind me and the husband was dealt a RF. The first RF for either one of them they said.

Glad to know something good can happen there. All I hear about cruise ships is the bad pay tables but a royal is a royal!

This is why I often played only one coin frequently when I wasn't hitting any good hands. I enjoy playing but didn't want to give up too much money so we frequently played 1-2 coin when we weren't getting too many hits. If the hits started we moved up in coins played to 5.
Interestingly, the 25¢, 50¢ and dollars had the same exact low pay tables. Only JOB paid 2 for 2 pair and it was 6/5.

Yes, it was the Emerald Princess. If you are going make it a point to meet the young Macedonian slot tech and tell him I said hi!. The gaming company that is running the gambling for Princess is doing a really good job and the tech took care of all of our needs for the next five days after I hit. Also check out the "quads night" they are giving away prizes to those who hit quads at the bar machines including deuces quads. The odds are only worth playing for the progressive quarters - they don't improve based on denomination.
Good luck if you are going!

Im going on the Norwegian Gem out of NY in January for 10 nights-I did the same cruise last year for my 20th anniversary. It was fantastic! I seem to do quite well on cruises-I hit my first RF on one. I also hit 5X5X5X for $10000 a few years ago and on my last cruise my husband got a RF, I got one holding just the A of D and I got dealt a RF playing 3 line quarters! Whats great about Norwegian is their slot club. You get points for playing that they deduct as cash from your bill and when you book your next cruise they look at your play before quoting u a price-the year after I won the 10000 I got a balcony cabin 7 night cruise for 2 for 945 and this year I got a baclcony cabin for the 10 days for 948! I was eligible for an outside cabin for just the taxes but I upgraded to balcony-gotta have my balcony!
In the end I guess this tells you how much of my winnings I GAVE BACK!

Nice going Boopsie. No one here will criticise you since a win is a win and as long as you enjoyed your winnings, thats all that matters. ALMOST evryone has a "I gave backmost of my winnings" story so this proves you're human and not a self-proclaimed expert! Enjoy that cruise with Cousin Brucie.

It's been almost 2 years now since I hit 2 RF progressives on a Royal Caribbean cruise AND won the slot tournament.
Wouldn't you know the Gaming Gods got a lot of it all back on last year's cruise.
Still love to cruise!
