Make sure you are dealing with the same paytables between the two. Also take into account any other penalty cards that might exist between what on the surface looks like identical hands.

Take heart Lvnut as you have picked a game with so many variations of paytables that a lot of so called experts don't even play it.

FPDW  TIALvnut, You are going to continue to see discrepancies and are going to have to choose which one you are most comfortable with.  You will see a never-ending supply of these, so you might as well get used to it.Here's the lowdown and an example from 9/6 Jacks or Better (where the pay schedule awards 9 coins x 5 for a full house and 6 coins x 5 for a flush when you play 5 coins) as to how to view the different experts:(1) Paymar hates to worry about what are called "penalty cards."  Basically, this means that he likes to rank only groups of cards that make up what one is going to hold and ignore the cards that one will discard.  I think he would suggest that recreational players play KT suited in both of the following hands: KeTe 7`6` 2c and KeTe 9`6e 2c.(2) VPGenius is offering a service that gives a strategy guide by using a computer program that gives a quick average of what each hold is worth over all the possible dealt hands and is not necessarily in order.  His strategy guide lists the singleton Ke in front of KeTe.  If you followed this guide strictly, you would never ever play KeTe since Ke comes before it on the list.  But KeTe would not be listed if it were not the best play on some dealt hands.  The Genius discusses this on his Web site.  Basically the average for Ke is higher than the average for KeTe because there are many more hands where the singleton K is played that do not contain a suited T.  However, when the suited Ten is present, the average for the singleton K is less than the average value of KT.  So, some of the orderings there might be less than perfect.  But the advice is free after all.(3) Bob Dancer, faygo's professed guru in another thread would say, "look at all the cards before you make a decision."  He would generally play KeTe when dealt the first hand above but in the second hand or whenever there was also an unsuited 9 and some other heart in the hand, he would play the singleton K.  Paymar says that such efforts slow you down and tend to have you make mistakes that reduce your overall payoffs. It is up to each player to make a decision about what works best for himself.  Here I would favor Dancer's choice, but there are other situations, such as which singleton card to match with the wild card in some Joker Wild games where I might not make the effort. In order to find out what is the best play, of course you can continue to use the Genius's Hand Analyzer, invest in some software that has a video poker tutor mentioned in other places on this forum, or use the training feature on the site for many of the games. But you will never get agreement here because each expert is starting with their own set of assumptions and priorities.By the way, for a specific answer to your question, you already know how Paymar and the Genius would answer your question.  The Wizard of Odds gives a list of the exceptions that Bob Dancer might suggest if you were following one of his more advanced strategies at http://wizardofodds.com/deuceswild/appendix2.htmlThere the Wizard says, "Normally in full pay deuces wild video poker when the
player has the choice of keeping either (1) a deuce only or
(2) three to a royal flush, including a deuce and an ace,
and there are no flush or straight penalty cards to the
royal, the best play is to go for the royal flush."  He goes on to list exceptions to this rule at the address indicated above.Best of luck!
