Multi Strike Strategy

Post by jerseymike »

Hi all. I bought the VPW from bob Dancer and love it. I was wondering if there are any strategy cards for the game. The only article I can find on it is from 2003 by Bob Dancer. Problem is the article sometimes contradicts the software when analyze hand is selected no matter what the difficulty level [ie: beg, intermediate, advanced or mixed.] I can't give you exact hands right now but the next time I come across a hand that is contradictory I will post a screenshot. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks and good luck!

I play this game alot and used to be able to tag it pretty often.  My strategy was to get to the top line whatever that took.  Then go for broke on the top line.  But I play for the short term even though I'm a long term player

This is one of my favorite games, also, especially when it has TDB. I like the STP Multi-Strike, when I can find it. I play the first two rows (1X & 2X) very conservitive, trying to just get a paying pair to advance. No straight or flush draws here. That is, unless the STP kicks in, and boosts the possible payout. I play the top two lines (4X & 8X) like a normal TDB, playing for TTFs and Aces with kickers. Incidentaly, there is a new version out called Deluxe Multi-Strike, which adds some additional interesting wrinkles to the game. I know Bellagio has it in Vegas.

billyjoe,
Congrats again on the wife's hit in N.O.

Don't play it but see at the casinos. My understanding of Dancer's strategy when it came out was to win at the lower hands to move up like you stated. Do you find MS to be volatile like Ultimate X and other bonus games?

My experience has been that you can go for long stretches where you never get off of first street, so that's a bummer. With the STP version, though, you can really make up ground with a multiplier and a good hand.

Larry,

I play a fair amount of 5-play multi-strike and I don't find it nearly as volatile as Ultimate X or Dreamcard. I find it on par with Supertimes Pay as far as volatility. I like multi-strike in the 5-play form only. Single play is drab to me. I play DDB with minimum of a 8/5 (preferably 9/5) paytable and very importantly with the RF paying 4000 with max play. You can find these games at Red Rock, The Palms and The Orleans. Many games only return 1250 for the RF with max play, so be careful when selecting a game. The strategy I use is to survive until levels 3 and 4 and then use correct play strategy on levels 3 and 4 or after a free advance. On levels 1 and 2, I never fish for an inside straight and never hold 3 to a straight flush (except for 3 to a royal of course.) I have had some nice hits on this game. I usually play nickles or dimes ($5-10/hand) and $300-500 usually lasts for at least several hours on this game.

damule,
Thanks for the head's up about MS STP play and especially it being at the Palms/Red Rock since we are going there in the next two weeks. I will definitely give it a try. I'm glad to hear the volatility is lower than X and DC. They can eat up your money really fast. Glad to know it is in 5¢/10¢ since I'll be just learning to play and will probably make mistakes.
