Happy 4th of July
We got started a little early celebrating the 4th of July.
Our somewhat normal Free Play routine is a three casino rotation that sends us about $150 a
week. We usually have lunch and pick up a free gift if they have something.
On the first stop I blew my free play in short order, however my wife
caught Aces w/kicker for $1000.00, on TDB, which she gladly split with
me.
So I meandered over to the so-called high limit area where they have
about 8 $1 and $2 Progressives.
The TDB was over $12k and thought I'd give it shot. But as we all know,
sometimes it's not in the cards. But that also means there are a few other
hands in the deck. Like this one.Sometimes it takes a little while to get paid, and having put $300 of my $500 in Free Play money in the first machine I'd come to, I moved over to the next machine and started to play $1 on TDB to pass the time until they got around to pay me. Then this happened.About this time my wife came in to where I was playing, just in time to witness my getting paid for the first hit. She had given up on the progressive she was playing, because it was hit by the guy who had sat down at the machine I had abandoned earlier. Oh well.I offered her my remaining $100 Free Play money and along with the last 2 of her own she selected a far end machine and commenced to play.Well, up jumped 3 Aces, which without any coaching on my part whatsoever, she held. Then as divine providence would have it this appeared.By this time all the suits in the joint can be heard mumbling behind us, about how "lucky" we were. So with 2 more stops to make on our junket we left and drove on to the next place where this happened. At this point, most have probably grown weary of my posting, so I won't be showing a pic of my $5 Aces I caught after the one above. Actually the battery went dead on the phone. Oh well. I put it on the car charger and we headed out to our final stop of the day to collect our Free Play.We really wanted to head to the bank at this point, but the 3rd stop was on the way to the bank so we popped in. Downloading my $50. in Free Play and on the 3rd hand this happened. Gotta love those ATM's that take cash deposits. The End.Have a Happy Fourth of July, and remember to pray for our Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Coast Guard, and especially my Marines.Casino Knight

Great hits CK . Too bad you were playing on gaffed machines at those crooked, unregulated local indian casinos though . Can you imagine how much better you would have done if you used a progressive, 5th card flip-over, ARTT, super-secretive double advanced special play strategy instead?

I hate to break it to you this way, but that's exactly how I did it. Do you actually think you'd have a snowballs chance in hell of hitting those hands any other way?

I'm sure most of this group is familiar with those late night
commercials that use the phrase, " But Wait, There's More".
Yesterday, while trying to recuperate from the previous outing, we
received a call from a host we knew from another casino. Seems she had
just moved to the place where we had done all the damage and saw our
name on her computer screen. She stated her call was to invite us back
for some 4th of July festivities, including dinner in their upscale
restaurant. In truth, 99% of all Casino Hosts, just want the money
back.
Well, being gluttons for punishment, we accepted and made the drive back
across town with $500 apiece for the outing.
Upon arrival, we had about 45 minutes to gamble before our dinner
reservation, and our super friendly host was most eager to guide us back
to the High Limit area.
Unlike the rest of the casino, the H/L was relatively empty. Upon
examination of the VP machines, both the DDB and TDB progressives had
grown by about a grand a piece since our last visit.
We both chose the same machines we had hit previously. The wife chose
to play the TDB and I took on the DDB. $12k+ and $10k+ respectively.
With our Host hovering over my shoulder I hold 3 to the Royal. You
should have seen her jaw drop when this happened.I casually mentioned to her, that this wasn't what she had in mind when she invited us out. With a big smile, she just laughed and went to find an attendant. She returned a few minutes later to more jackpot music when my wife, on her last play, with the last of her buy-in money caught this. I think she played correctly, even though she didn't ask my advice, again. I'm starting to think she's getting the hang of this Video Poker thingy. Could be all the practice she gets on this site.By the time we both were paid, it was time for dinner. Enjoyed a fine meal, and got the hell out of dodge. We really enjoyed all the fireworks around the valley on the drive home.Again, Happy Fourth of July.CK
