right play or wrong play????
I was playing TDB and was dealt 34AAA...Question, do I hold the Aces and throw the 3,4 or hold one of the kicker cards? I held the AAA after much thought and was dealt in this order 6,A so ended up with 6AAAA. If the cards truly do deal off the so called top of the deck and deal left to right than I was correct since with only one space I would have been dealt the 6,and ended up with 64AAA. If the cards are pre dealt with the draw cards under the dealt cards I missed the Awk.
I was pondering this at 3:00AM....
Question no. 2....I was dealt 469JQ (the 9JQ was suited) Do I go for the flush or SF or hold just the JQ? I held the 9JQ and got the K 10 for the SF but wondered if I had thrown the 9 would I have had a chance for the Royal....
Plays like this drive me crazy...
So what would you do......

The cards are continuosly shuffling-you would have gotten different cards because the exact moment u hit draw would not have been the same.

What I was pondering was the ODDS...What play afforded me the best chance of getting the Awk or RF....

Answer #1: Mathmatically, in TDB, you hold the AAA and one of the kickers. This is only true in TDB. In DDB you never hold kickers. However, I no longer hold kickers when playing TDB. The math only slightly favors holding the kicker when playing infinite hands. In the short term, which is what we play, whether 100 hands or 10,000 hands, I feel it's beneficial not to hold the kicker. You must draw the 4th ace for a bonus payout, whether it's with a kicker or not. You can still draw another kicker with the ace, there are plenty more left in the deck after dumping 1 or even 2 from the deal. I cannot count how many times I've pulled the 4th ace with or without another kicker after dropping 1 or 2 kickers. I only remember a handful of times, when I used to hold the kickers, that I pulled the 4th ace.
Answer #2: By your question I'm assuming the 4 or the 6 were also suited with the 9JQ. If the paytable is TDB 9/7 or 9/6 you hold, 4 to the flush. If the paytable is 9/5 or lower, hold the 9JQ. Regardless of the paytable, if the RF is a progressive and is valued at appr 140% or greater, hold just JQ.

that is the answer I was looking for...Thanks Mule...I seldom play TDB so was at a bit of a loss..
As for the second hand the 4 and 6 were not suited with the 9JQ....I was only wondering at the value of holding the 9 vs just the JQ
Good advice....I play for the short term.

One other tidbit of info about TDB...never, ever hold a full house with aces, twos, threes, or fours over. Always drop the pair and go for the quad. This strategy is also true in DDB but only with aces over.

I always hold just the AAA instead of the FH in DDB.. Why do you play TDB differently? I don't think I ever got a full house with the 2,3,4's in TDB but just started play TDB more lately....so I like to know the different strategy .

In TDB quad 2,3,4's w/kicker pay 2000 vs 800 in DDB. The difference in this return is significant enough to alter the play on the full house. So whenever you're dealt a full house in TDB with low trips over, dump the pair and go for the quad.

that makes sense....I'll keep all that in mind on our next trip to Vegas in Oct...Until then I'll sleep better....Thanks much for the advice...I'm so stuck on DDB that I don't do much different but now I'll make some changes...

Personally, I'll continue to hold a kicker on TDB. Maybe on account I've been fortunate enough to have greatly benefited from my decisions to do so. But as always it's your money, play it as you see fit.
