How far would you drive for Free Play?
I have $720 in free play but the casino is about 3.5 hours away and I can't decide if it is worth it. I can blow through $700 pretty quick if its just not happening. So I was wondering how far would you drive for free play. How much free play would it take for you to drive 3.5 hours one-way, and for fun we will throw in a free room and dinner.

I'd do it for $400. I'll assume I could cash most of that out after playing it through and who knows, maybe get lucky too. $400 isn't bad for a day's work (with dinner to boot). Plus it's a good excuse to get some play in.

Let's assume you win $600 by playing it through one time. Even if you played slow and it took you an hour to play, that's about $75/hour for your time ($600/8). Only you can decide if it's worth it.
For me it would depend on other factors. Do they have any good games, what would you do if you didn't go, have you had fun at this casino in the past ...

'Sounds good to me and I would be outta here in a heart beat, after a glance at my calendar. I would not ask anyone their opinions, especially my husband! He is welcome to come with, however. I would also give a quick thought to what other casinos are en route or near by, as well as others we know or areas for sightseeing on that route. It sure beats driving that distance cold, WITHOUT any free play incentive. We have been meaning to revisit casinos at Niagara Falls, both Canadian and US sides, for some time. They are maybe 5 or 6 hrs away. I just asked hubby how long it would take to get there and he responded without missing a beat: "About 2K$". Um, he's a keeper despite his sense of humor!

haha, yea thats my issue, the casino is Harrahs Grand in Biloxi. Never had much luck there, usually come close to breaking even cause they games are ok. I normally end up walking over to the Bea Rivage since they have TDB. But yea picking up that $700 could cost me $2k

The Borgata gave away Oakley sunglasses in June. I drove 1½ hours to get those sunglasses. OH, I also had lunch.
I wasn`t doing anything so I made the trip.

My thoughts are the answer is relative to what each of us plays and where we place the value of the amount offered. For some $50 might be sufficient if their play is $300-400/trip. Depending on the other comps and options (Biloxi - play Harrah's and BR) or just Harrah's and enjoy the stay.
But, remember your talking to someone who believes in "sheltering in place" @ the casino 1 1/2 away when thunderstorms are in our area.

It is curious, but I often drive exactly 3.5 hrs to Biloxi for about 150 in comps and a free room for two nights. So 700+ is a easy call for me.

I sometimes get $20 in free slot play from a casino 1.5 hours north of here. It costs me about roughly the same in gas to get there and back so it's not worth it.
In your situation, if you can make a few day trip out of it and get free room and board, I'd say go for it!
