Monthly contests
I love the contests as much as the next person; however, the last couple of monthly contests seem to be geared towards only two games out of many - royal aces and super double. To me, this is unusual. With all the choices of games, why are the the high scores only from these two? This would not be true if we were in an actual casino. I'd suggest that the next contest make the playing field even with all games as "loose" as these two.

Erin, I presume you meant Super Double Double Bonus as one of your two choices (Super Double Bonus is a different game that isn't offered in the current contest) though I don't see that as one of the top 2 games of choice here. But I do agree that Royal Aces is chosen by many as the single game of choice. That is not because it is "looser" than the other games, but because it gives the best chance of hitting the two 4000+ jackpot hands necessary to win the contest. Even with better pay schedules, I don't think the other games would be chosen over Royal Aces by most of the winners. To Webman and others, Although I was one of those voting in Webman's poll (that now has a 124-2 margin with 10 indicating no preference) that favored the "many choices in the August Contest" over having choices "LIMITED to certain game types," I think it would be sort of fun for a while to eliminate the game each month played most often by the top 10 or top 100 scorers so that each contest would have a bit different flavor to it.Certainly people have different preferences and its fun to have the choice of joker games (even if the clown-card scares Eduardo), deuces games plus non-wild games, but it's fun to focus on different games of choice (like Royal Aces is in this contest) in different contests. And it would be interesting to see which became the new games of choice as games were eliminated.Love the contests including the single line contests, but everything gets old after in a while. People tend to like variety which is how the vote went, but always having the same choices ironically may not be the most variety. So though I played it most of the time in the last couple single line contests, here's a vote for eliminating Royal Aces next time and either keeping the other 18 or adding in someone else's favorite like you did this time with AC Joker.(Although I didn't play it, I was sort of sad to see you eliminate the mistake in the pay schedule of the Aces and Faces game that paid 2500 for a Straight Flush in the last contest. Little "mistakes" like that sprinkled throughout a random game or two make for interesting choices as well.)

I second New2vp's motion. Oh and New2vp the Joker is the Joker. Eduardo is scared of both the Clown and Joker. Rather timid soul I would suggest.

my only complaint about these single hand contests is that on at least 5 occasions i've needed less than 100 points to make 1000 and 30 hands or more left and i fall short every time.

If you are playing Royal Aces (or one of the Joker Poker 2 pair games), 70% of the hands are losers. This translates to having only 5 to 13 paying hands in the last 30 hands about 93% of the time. And since 62% of those paying hands (for Royal Aces) only return 5 credits along with 25% that return only 15, it is no wonder you seldom get those last 100 points. You really need at least quads to make any headway in your accumulated score with this game. When you don't get paid for a pair of Jacks, Queens, or Kings, the droughts can be long, tiring, and very frustrating. I think I read once that there was a Two Pair or Better game before someone came up with Jacks or Better and that video poker didn't take off in popularity until people had the reinforcement of a win (ok...you only got your money back, so it was a tie) when they paired a face card or an ace. After playing a lot of Royal Aces, I can see why people might choose not to play...unless, that is, they get hooked by an early set of quad aces!

New2vp .... I like playing all the different games ... but I would like to know that if I am playing these games ..(because there are so many offered) there is a glimmer of hope that something good would pop up ... it just does not happen ... after playing 600 hands in one day ... and see that my highest game was just over 2000 .. I want to throw in the towel ... but no... I'm still tempted and punish myself again and again...
It seems if you don't play these games as soon as the contest starts it's really difficult to get a good score.

Yesterday I got a five of a kind on Joker Poker for 4000 credits. I wound up with a total of 5000+, hardly enough to win. I kept thinking, come on, just one more!! Yeah right. But it does happen!

It seems if you don't play these games as soon as the contest starts it's really difficult to get a good score.Your odds of getting a good score are exactly the same at the end of the week as at the beginning. If you mean it's harder to get on the scoreboard, that is of course true the more players there are and the longer the contest runs... there is more competition.Buf if you define a good score as some amount, say 1000 points, then your chances are the same all the time. Looking at last month's top ten scores (August), here are the days they happened:1) Day 22) Day 73) Day 24) Day 25) Day 36) Day 57) Day 78) Day 19) Day 510) Day 2As you can see, if any of these players gave up after the first day, only one would have gotten a prize. And two of them would have missed out on their great session if they didn't stick with it until the last day.In the most recent contest that ended last night, not a single player in the top ten got their score in the first two days of competition. The lesson? These amazing scores are rare... but you never know when a jackpot will come along to put you over the top.

new2vp, i was playing a variety of games and it hapens;guess it's just not meant to be.Well, Doris, I remember that you were up on the board in a contest not too long ago, so you've been closer recently than I have. Though, I agree it seems you had incredibly poor luck this time.I've only been on the board once and that was only in the first hour or two of the contest. When they had a Wheel Poker tournament, I was dealt AA2AA on TDB, which was actually worth more with the spins than a dealt royal in that tournament. As I recall, I got less than stellar results on my 3 spins and fell from the board quickly, but that was one of the only times I ever made the top 100. I think I actually had another good dealt hand in that contest, but not in that game. Boy, that was a long time ago.New2vp after playing 600 hands in one

again and again...Marlo, I know what you mean. You keep thinking it only takes a couple hands plus a little more luck. Even though the single hand seems boring, it seems like you have a bit more chance because you don't need that big dealt hand...but you really need lightning to strike at least twice plus still get some good points on the other hands in these single hand contests.
In the most recent contest that ended last night, not a single player in
the top ten got their score in the first two days of
competition. But tweeetttyy was oh so close, just falling 20 points shy and giving up her spot on the board the last day! Webman, this looked like the closest competition that we have had, at least in a long time. Only 350 points separated #1 from #10, which could have been made up by just one more set of quads for any of those near the top.
