Record Keeping- What?/How Much?

In responding to a previous topic I realized that I don't keep as detailed records of our play as some.   I record: date, casino, RF, other major hits/pay outs, game played for hits, G's and sometimes anecdotal notes. I don't keep the number of hands played or specific denominations, time played (how many hours), etc.

Shadowman and others must keep really detailed records.

So the question is, "What kind of records do you keep?" Maybe better record keeping will help me learn more/win more.

I track points. Since points are based on the amount of play you can always determine the number of hands. If you know how fast you typically play you can also determine time from played (approximately) from points.
 
I also keep track of 4RF and times hit. I track the number of cards held when I hit a RF. I know some people keep track of suit as well.
 
I also track my freeplay ... the amount I get and the amount I win. I track CB and comps as well.

I track like shadowman.  I usually keep track of the times I ended up with 4 to the Royal Flush which is usually three or four times a session it seems.  I also am watching my free play and comps in case a question comes up about taxes.

How do you track: notebook, index cards, a pre-designed sheet?
Why do you track freeplay, comps, CB?

Just trying to better understand and learn.

LL, I take an index card with me and have predetermined places to put the information. I then transfer the information to my spreadsheet when I get home. I also move basic data to a log journal for tax purposes.
 
I track freeplay and CB because I like to know from what aspects of my play the profits are coming. However, they all sum to the bottom line. I track comps just so I know.

I track quads and up on my iPhone.  This is my first year for such a track and I can't wait to tally at the end of the year.  Also, gives me an idea of which game to play such as Super Double, TDB, Dueces.  And if I go to long without em I may give Shockwave a spin.
 
As for the rest I use my card pts. For taxes I use bank statements and write on my WG after each visit.
