If you place a max bet (30) in Ultimate Bonus Poker and you are delt a pair of J's,Q's,K's or A's, the minimum amount won should be 30.  It isn't always. I have repeatedly won only 15 for a bet of 30 and jacks or better delt.If nothing else, you should not bet max on these machines at a real casino.

That isn't the game cheating you, it is how the game works. The extra credits you bet in Ultimate X (assuming that s what you mean) are for the multiplier bonuses. They aren't free and yes, if you have no multiplier in a game with an extra credit bet, you will not regain your bet with a simple jacks or better. This of course makes up for a possible 12x jackpot in the game on the other side of the coin. It is much more volatile when the low wins don't regain your bet so you need to be prepared for that when you play it.
