Strategy differences for 8-5 Bonus Poker
I have a bunch of freeplay at Resorts AC, which just yanked all its 9-6 Jacks. Are there many/any significant changes from the 9-6 strategy to the 8-5 Bonus Poker strategy?-plenty of those machines at Resorts.Looking at the Wizard Of Odds I don't see anything glaring like holding inside straights, 3 to a flush, etc.At my age I an way too lazy to learn any more strategies so I would appreciate the shorthand version from someone here.

According to videopokerhelp.net, there is no significant penalty (less than 0.1%) for playing 8/5 bonus poker using 9/6 JOB strategy.
If you want to alter your strategy a bit, here are the situations that seem to occur the most often:
1. hold king alone, rather than king-ten suited, if there is a flush penalty
2. hold unsuited ace-queen rather than queen-ten suited
3. hold unsuited ace-jack rather than jack-ten suited, if there is a flush
penalty plus a nine, eight, or seven penalty.
4. hold unsuited king-jack rather than jack-ten suited if there is a flush
penalty, or a nine or eight penalty.
