"Un-welcomed" for 30 days

Post by okie dokie »

Today, I 'visited' a Tribal Casino... and was met at the (man-trap) door by a 'rep' of THE casino.  They informed me I hadn't caused any trouble (and that I wasn't in any trouble), but I was "un-welcomed" for a period of 30 days.

Back story: For the past 20 days, I have been 'visiting' and playing VP at this casino.  I keep my VP play records, and my BR has increased approximately $6K.

Although, they wouldn't tell me a reason, I'm guessing that this 6 thousand reasons to do with it.

Just wanted to vent (a little). Thanks.

Typical indian casino - they do not want to pay anyone anything. How did they know it was you? I assume you had a players card, but unless you wear it around your neck, how did they connect you the player with the records from the players card?

About two years ago, I was 86ed at MGM Detroit as I first walked into the casino. The long sad story was posted here with lots of great input from forum members. They did not ask for ID. I stood my ground and asked to see a supervisor. Eventually, I was allowed into the casino and apologized to, claiming it was a case of "mistaken identity".  Eventually, the head of security phoned and I was given dinner for two at Wolf Gang Pucks, one of their nicer restaurants. Apparently, they should have checked my name against the name of someone they thought undesirable. I have been there several times since and nothing bad has happened , aside from some losses. However, since that day, I prefer to play at two other area casinos: Windsor Caesars yesterday and today and Greektown.

edog,

In all your political correctiveness you are absolutely correct. However, I refer to them as "indian casinos" as well, as most folks do who frequent the establishments including many native americans themselves. I know this because some of my best friends, and casino buddies, are native americans. As a matter of fact, my wife is part Cherokee, and it does not offend her. So, I'm sorry that some of us on here may offend you by using that term, I think it's something you may have to get used to on this forum as well as most gaming forums. It is certainly not abusive nor out of line to refer to "native american gaming establishments" as "indian casinos."

On another note, a friend of mine was booted from a small California indian casino after winning about $2500 playing blackjack after a few hours. They very politely asked him if he would leave. He thanked them because his history proves that he'll usually give most of his winnings back, if not more, the same night if given enough time. He was playing out of a 4 deck or more auto shuffler with some pretty standard rules. He does not count cards and was playing mostly by himself at $25-50/hand, 1-2 hands at a time. He just had a lucky run. I'd hate to see what that casino would do if someone played $100+/hand and was hot. I think this is real bad publicity for casinos to do this. They certainly don't ask us to leave when we're down $2500 after a couple hours. I would never go back to a casino that did this to me plus I would let everyone I know what casino it is so they are pre-warned. Since this did not happen to me, I will not do that in this case since I'm a third party to the event.

I should know I am a proud member of the ONEIDA TRIBE OF WISCONSIN.I hope Oneida has been turning in their reports (they didn't on a yearly basis for many of the early years). Seems like they were the biggest holdout on what they owed Wisconsin and it was a HUGE amount.Aces were pulled from the blackjack decks in the early years of a different Wisconsin Indian casino. There are quite a few other "winners" who've been 86'd. so along with poor VP paytables, it's no wonder these Indian casinos will always be making plenty of money.

Edog, I do understand your concerns.Unfortunately in this particular case,  the term "Indian Casino" is rather common
vernacular and is used interchangeably with  Native American or American Indian casinos in
all kinds of ways by so many people that it would be unreasonable to enforce use of the term.

Do a google search for "indian casino" and you will see a great many
mainstream sources use the term, some of them native american
organizations themselves.

Some casinos even have the term right in their name. See: http://www.sanmanuel.com/ I
should know I am a proud member of the ONEIDA TRIBE OF
WISCONSIN.Please see the header of the Oneida web site here: http://www.oneidanation.org/It says "Oneida Tribe of Indians of Wisconsin."So as you can see, it's a very common term indeed, however any individuals feel about its use on a personal level.

First of all lets clear up a few things mammajamma it was not the oneidas not submiting reports. It was the ho-chunks! they still do not to this day. secondly your accusations of pulling aces from decks could get you in court getting sued for libel. thirdly you did not keep your promise to not comment on my posts.
