VP-Which Machine Will You Play?
Had a thought today and was wondering what other VP players would do. Here is the deal! You go to your favorite casino and 2 of your favorite VP machines are available--side by side. You know for a fact that during the last hour one machine had been cold and the other machine has been hot. What is hot and what is cold--you tell me what your description of hot and cold is and that is what these two machines have been for the last hour. I have read numerous times about each deal/play is independent of all other past deals/play. Soooooooo, with that in mind which machine to you play and WHY?
I'll be the first to take the plunge. I would not hesitate to take the hot machine. I must also say that I am not one to "stay" with a machine if I am not producing the results I want. I am not ashamed nor proud of the fact I will change machines in a heartbeat. If I am on a bank of 6 to 8 machines I may play all of them within a hour unless I hit one that is producing the results I want. Just because I start on the hot machine does not mean I will stay with it. It will have to show me something reasonable soon or I am gone to the next machine.
Obviously it's good we don't all play the same way. Otherwise we would all be standing in line to play the same machine(s).
Anyway---would like to hear what others may/may not do!

I would play the cold machine. because you are sitting next to me on the hot one . If my machine is doing nothing when you get up I switch to your machine.

There are no such things as hot and cold machines. There are only hot and cold players. So, the only decisions would based on comfort, etc.

Comfort meaning keys that work well, good monitor, no irritating players next to you, etc. Nothing exciting, just whatever makes the experience more enjoyable.

With equal pay tables, either machine may produce the results that you are seeking.
I used to love to be in the casino real early in AM in Vegas (I live in FLA, so try and stay on East Coast Time in Vegas), and pick a row of single line VP machines. They would be empty, since the casino was almost empty. I would start at the left, play until I hit a quad, and then move over one. I would try and get all of the machines showing a quad before anybody else got there that morning. I only succeeded once, but it was fun to sit across from that row, and see the frustration of someone trying to find a machine that had not hit yet.

Mary,
Sweet C is almost like you with the exception she'll play her "fav" first if available then hop around till she begins hitting. I'm more of the grab the best and stay. Too many times I've chased the hot machine that someone left - even this weekend for 30 hands-then back to the machine I was on. But, I hit my AWAK on a machine after playing two others and not getting what I felt was "normal play". As soon as I sat down I started getting enough triples/full-houses to stay within $5 for over 50 hands. I was confident I would hit...
I understand Shadowman's statements but "comfort" may also include your psychological comfort - your timing is "comfortable" with one machine versus another. I know that if my mental frame is negative I may as well get up and move.
Do what you need to feel comfortable and win!!!

I play the cold machine. Once I hit a quad I cash and move to the next machine play a little or until I hit a quad and move on. I won't sit at a machine for long but I normally don't go back to a machine once I hit a quad. Once I hit a quad on a new machine I alternate between a fresh machine or one that I have played and it hasn't hit a quad yet. Once I have quaded them all I start playing on machines that hit lower paying quads. I rarely if ever go back to a machine that has given me a hand-pay.
I do know several people they just lock onto a machine (always the same one) and play it for hours.... good or bad ironically two of these players play the same machine. So its funny when they are both their at the same time.
@billyjoe, I 've done that before on a bank of 8 a few times. Had them all showing quads and/or sr8 flushes.
@shadowman do you have a favorite machine?
