Two Names and Gold Stars

When I first signed up on the website my user name was set up as kmartin511.  One day I had to log in for some reason and I could no longer get in as kmartin511 so I had to change it to kmartin5111.  I don't remember too many details as to why it happened and never gave it a second thought until I checked my profile today and realized that both names were listed as players.  I only pay one fee each month and always wondered why, after all this time and soooo many games played, why I was still considered a Newbie???  Is there anyway I can get an upgrade in my status?  And is the original username still active?  How does one compile more gold stars?

So it doesn't have anything to do with the amount of games or days of playing...more to do with the postings?  Well, that makes sense if you compare your 120 posts to my 5 then your 3 gold stars to my one...
