My family is safe in Japan

Post by okie dokie »

Last night, I received the call of a lifetime.  All my family and friends in Sapporo and Hakodate (Hokkaido) Japan are safe and uninjured.  I am still waiting for information on friends in Tokyo, Kyoto, Chiba and Shizuoka (Honshu) Japan.

Please pray for all the people living, missing and .... in Japan.  Thank  you.

Whew, I am so happy to learn of your good news. Someone else was on chat that first day and unable to reach relatives other than an Uncle in Toyko. She would have liked to have been able to help but was care giver for her disabled husband. She had moved to the states in 1964. She stirred the emotions and sympathies in several of us on chat. When there is a crisis, it is understandable that there is a communications problem. Old Confuscianism: "No news is good news!" And sometimes this rings true!

I also have relatives there but am glad to report that they're all safe and accounted for. It's the nuclear concerns that worry me for their safety. Aftershocks are a given.

Enjoy a good night's sleep, Okie and Ed.

What a relief for you both.  I, too, will include all in my prayers.

Thank you Ambass, Marie M, and Galey~

Ed, I'm glad all your relatives are safe.  I know whatcha mean about the radiation threat.  I saw on the news today that the 'radiation cloud' is now coming to the West Coast.  I'm in Southern Cali... so... oh boy!

Stay safe everyone!!

The radiation level is expected to be 1 billionth of the allowable level. Don't believe it is a cause for concern.
That stat is similar to my chances of winning at VP.

Thanks Faygo, your "chances of winning at VP" comment made me chuckle!

Thanks everyone, for your thoughts and prayers. 9.0 is an unimagineable jolt. Just pray for their continued safety. They're resilient and will manage somehow.

Until you find your loved ones and can breathe again, it certainly makes for some horrendous hours of not knowing what is going on. I lived in So. Calif for 53 years and went through some very severe quakes. They do give you pause!
