How to Play VP with Advantage?

Post by Q VIDEO POKER »

What does one look for to play with an advantage with VP?

1) Progessive Jackpots? What kind of progressive jackpots have you seen?

2) Cashback offers? What are the better cashback offers you have seen?

3) Other promotions one should look for?

Thanks in advance..

Yes, all of the above plus anything else of value. Gas cards and freeplay are two that come to mind. Sometimes you get free entries into contests that can be valuable or entries into drawings that have big prizes.  The key to advantage play is to put a value on these things. For example, there could be a drawing for $5,000. But, what are your chances? If you figure you have a 1 in a 1000 chance of winning then it is only work $5 spread out over all your play. Not very meaningful. Many CB situations have point multipliers. The CB may only be .1% but on specific days they could have a 10x multiplier. Now, you're up to 1% on all your play that day. That would turn something like BP at 99.17% into a slightly positive game. If you have multiple casinos where you can play you would try to schedule your play where you have the biggest advantage. Casinos also offer coupons for cash on certain days. Again, trying to schedule your visits on those days is smart. Once you start working through these kind of things then any other promotions will be more obvious as to the advantages. Experience will make you better.

Thanks in advance..From the general tone of your post, I can only assume you have very little VP knowledge. I'd recommend starting out with a book on VP. For reasons that may not be known to you, I cannot recommend a book myself.  I would be horribly biased.Could some else like new2vp or shadowman please recommend a good book for this new poster.~FK

Thanks in advance..I see no one has jumped in and recommended a good book for you yet. The reason I didn't before, is that I'm a book author myself.Could someone please jump in and recommend something appropriate to this person's needs.~FK

There are quite a few publications on vp and nearly all of them will give you decent insight on good vp strategy. There's also free online vp help too. Stanford Wong and Henry Tamburin come to mind besides Mr Dancer. Do your homework and invest wisely.
