Fun way to play with limited bankroll

Post by olds442jetaway »

If you can find a 1 cent spin poker or hundred play vp machine, start your first bet with one cent and increase every bet win or lose by one cent until you are even or better. Then start all over again. You can slow it down even more by not betting more pennies at one time than you will need to be even if you beat your bet on the next spin. That way, you can stand more losses with the lower bets and may only need a few wins after you go up for a while. You might not win every time playing this way, but it is lots of fun and you can last a long time with $100.00. The trick is to find those penny spin, multi line, or 50 or 100 play penny VP machines. I know of only one penny spin machine at Mohegan Sun. There are a few penny multi line gamesf at Foxwoods. I have the most fun with the deuces wild game especially if you end up with deuces being dealt or get them on several lines which is not that uncommon after playing for several hours.

I think you have made a good suggestion for stretching out 100.00.However, I would play the game somewhat more aggressively.First, I would play five credits per hand.Second, I would increase the number of hands played at a time, until I hit a good payout.  For instance, I may start out playing 10 hands for five tries, then go up to 15 hands for five tries, then play 20 hands.  I think it is about equal to playing one more hand, with each successive deal.  Eventually, I would end up playing 100 hands, and still not be even or ahead. As for breaking even, it has been my experience that this does not happen often.  I end up moving up from pennies to two cents per credit.  And when I fall even farther behind I move up to five cents per credit.Putting a lot of money into a 100 play machine seems to be a mistake, in that the pay back schedule for these machines is not as good as the pay back schedule for higher denomination games with fewer hands dealt.

This system is similar to the "Frugal Video Poker" system found on the Internet.  With this system you start by betting one coin then add +1 coin to every point you win.  For example, if you win 3 coins, you bet 4 on the next draw.  If you don't win you return to betting one coin.  I tried this system for a couple of months and it worked better with deuces due to the streaks.  It also helps in getting through the long dry spells this game seems to have.  I also played one coin dollars, so the pay schedule was much better.  On one three day trip to Biloxi, I went two days without 4 deuces, then hit 3 in a row the last morning.  Two of the deuce quads were $1000 each.   I liked the system, but gave it up because I saw too many great hands go by on one coin bets (two royals!)  Also, making the right plays while keeping track of the coin counter was distracting.  I'm a recreational player with a small bankroll and am always looking for a way to extend my play and get a chance at a big jackpot once in a while.  Hey, someone's got to pay the casino so all you pros can make a living...
