had a co worker go over at the spur of the moment, a few weeks ago he met a high roller friend at lac.Got my buddy a credit limit, but could not get him a room they were full to the brim. The rep told my buddy if a room came open, he and his wife would get the room. well about midnight they checked with host and no room was avaliable. My buddy likes to drink why he plays and he hits the sauce heavy along with his wife. No room, so he ask the rep if could get shuttle to a local hotel. The rep could not help him. This guy was down 7k and this hosts lets him drive why he was so drunk. The hotel is very lucky something did not go wrong. That is really sad.

I wouldn't give them my play again, Raven. Limos are no-cost to casinos, since once they have them, they are there to use. Also, I would make sure that the Host Manager there knew that story.

raven,
Your story appears to be more of the same for L'Auberge du Lac (LDL) in Lake Charles. Over the past year, many LDL players seem to be complaining about reduced comps, poor treatment, and poor choices by casino personnel.

LDL has gotten so bad Sweet C declined a casino trip to LDL for the night to wait until Friday when Isle finishes re-carpeting and has VP back on line.

However; the bottom line is that LDL is still just slightly behind New Orleans Harrah's for the lead as the leading gross profit casino in La and taking in almost a $M/day.

The four or five stretch limos they have with "L'Auberge du Lac" plastered on the sides and back must have been busy taking high rollers somewhere.

Times have been tough though, L'Auberge du Lac sold their custom seaplane.

larry we have 3 guys here that are headed to vegas this weekend 1 went today and two friday. All are comps.1 getting airfare they are hungary for players and willing to give some real comps again. Lac never has a room for the weekend and there service has declined, there is a reason. I am from the school the customer is always right. In scoop of things guys that come over for a weekend and bring four five thousand. that is a lot of money> i think lac has lost focus on the bread and butter customer.

raven,
On the weekends the minimum bet on Blackjack tables is $25. They may not be worried about such minor players ($4-5K).

Seriously, I've watched several players playing $90/hand Spin and know one local contractor who plays hours of $1 ten hand Ultimate X. .We've also watched, off to the side, several Houston area pro-athletes playing $500/minimum bet blackjack in the VIP area. When I last checked they still had one $500/hand slot machine. Only in my dreams...

As long as they are bringing in the whales from Texas and filling up their VIP suites and rooms they aren't going to worry. A former host told us the general block of weekend rooms are booked often months in advance with large VIP blocks held in reserve.
