My 11/6 Harrahs visit.
Well I had my friend visit for a night at Harrah's. We do an annual Vegas trip and he's between jobs so decided to join me for a night in AC. He must have thouht I was nuts becase as we were sitting at the bar having a drink and he's noodling around with quarter denomination I pull 4 aces for 2K. He's just looking at me like WTF. Later that night as he was sitting with me in my STP row I pull a RF holding 1 card for a 4K hit. He asked if I was employing any special stratedge or knowledge to make this happen. I laughted and told him I was just showing off and that no, it was just lucky. I'd sure say so...

Very nice hits, Roveer! You give the rest of us hope ... when are you going to start offering classes on how to do this so consistently?

You know, I'm a bit in the dark myself. I've been playing STP for years and even know my denominations were quarters I never had the hits that I've had this year. All I can say is this. I play for long periods of time (8-12 hours). I move around and sample a number of machines. I play all night, which for some reason seems to produce more hits (although when the machines in in sync during the day I produce the same hits. The hand pays can be attributed to my 1 dollar denomination and I would expect someone who plays just like me to produce the same pictures on quarters just at lower amounts. I can say that I've been doing a lot of training. I got the ipad app which allows me to work on my perfect play and I've upped my percentage from 93-94% to 96-97%. I'm still perplexed by certain hands but find those don't come very often so i can deal with the few percentage points that i can't seem to attain. I read a post here a while back where someone noted that doing this has it's perils. the long nights, the no bathroom breaks etc. Let's face it. I drink beer and smoke cigerattes while I play and stay up all night. None of these things are good. I do look at it as my Sunday night job, but still very much enjoy it. I'm not sure how long I will play at this level, but if i can tune my BR Mgmt and make it profitable I'll keep doing it until I check off the last 2 items on my bucket list (16k+ JP and a Dealt Royal on STP).
My biggest area in need of improvement is bankroll management. Many would ask how I can have a break even visit when you get so many hand pays. My game is an expensive one and believe me you can literally go through a thousand dollars in 10 minutes if you don't gap your play, know when to quit, move machines or just plain get lucky. Obviousely I had some luck on this past visit. Getting quads on 2 aces or a RF on 1 held card us pure luck. I must have bonked on 3 aces 5-6 times during this past trip. it's all luck once you've held the right cards. Good luck.

Words of wisdom for sure. Those 10 hand dollar machines will eat you alive if things aren't going your way. I can remember many a horrible day at the PA/DE casinos when I got in the hole and thought I'd get on one of them and get a lucky deal x10 and everything would be better and suffered some staggering losses. I'm much happier now that I'm "addicted" to the Triple Ace Poker game in WV which has a max bet of 5 quarters. At that rate even a bad day doesn't add up to more than a couple of hundred as opposed to thousands. Congrats on the wins and hope all is going well for you at the casinos and in general since then.

your hits are staggering, keep it up. Personally, I couldn't play $60 per hand, do you ever play $5 dollar machines at $25 per hand?

loco,
I don't think of 10 play STP as $60 a 'hand'. Each deal is10 hands and each or none could be a winner. I think of multi-hand machines as increasing the variance of the game, DDB or whatever. STP and Active X more so.
