AC Seven Star Trip

Post by BillyJoe »

Well, made it home from the 7Star event in AC this past weekend.

Weather was beautiful - should have played golf. They did a very nice job in most areas this time around.
Nice kick-off event at Harrahs Marina pool the first night.

Was trying to get a picture of the sign for "Bill's", but this gal kept getting in the way.

It was a good gaming trip. We stayed up for the entire trip, until Sunday evening, when we gave back our winnings, plus a little more. As far as VP was concerned, played mostly @ Caesars, where we stayed. Found the Five Star Poker machines by the Race Book. On Double Pay, TDB was 9/7, with 250 on a dealt FH - some of the better TDB that I have played in a while. Of course, AC would not be complete without Joker Poker - it is EVERYWHERE. I got pulled in to giving it a try, a $9 max bet progressive. Of course, my ONLY natural RF of the trip came on that game - $300.

I did notice, though, that it seemed that I got a lot more natural quads ($48) playing that game than I would see playing any other 3-way VP game, like TDB. Kinda made me wonder a little.
I did connect for one Five of a Kind, though, which was nice.

I tried to find Faygo and LizinSC, who were both in AC during my stay, but we never connected. Maybe next time.

Did any of the casinos have a 7stars banquet in the ballroom for all the 7stars guest. What other activities did they have for the 7stars guest.

Bally's had banquets both Friday and Saturday evenings --- "surprise" guest Tony Orlando. Diana Ross also sang both Friday and Saturday evenings. You could go in either order. Shirley and I would have gone to the dinner both evenings (once on my card and once on hers) but she took off after the party Friday night to be at a wedding on Sunday.  7x points Thursday and Monday --- up to 12,500 points each day. Best game I found was $5 9/6 JoB. Depending on previous play and home casino, many players got appearance money, and gift certificates (we spent ours at the Apple Store). Shirley and I each got $1,000 in airfare --- which was enough to bring along another couple as well. We each got $120 food allowance --- which could be easily stretched if you also went to the Diamond lounge. Free boat cruise I skipped. Free slot tournament.  Play Thursday - Saturday qualified you for Master Card gift cards at a rate of 0.15%. That's not enough to make play interesting after you've finished with your 7x points on Thursday, but playing $120,000 on Thursday earned us each $200 in these cards. Bob

billyjoe,  I gave you my cell number?  We were at  The Atlantic Club. Played gobs of Double Joker They have put in new Game King Consoles in the smoking area by the Boardwalk. Very comfortable to play then the shoulder burning uprights.. Tangueray hit a Spade Royal on a 2 card hold Saturday and I hit a Spade Royal on Sunday on a one card draw. They have shorted the Royal on that game by $500 on quarters, still Royal was worth $2000. In addition I took another $1600 off them.
Place was packed Friday night. Looked like AC of old.  Valet had filled two lots and were scrambling to open another. Big draw was the Phiss concert at Bader Field. They filled the joint. People came from all over the US to attend.
Self taught a new strategy for 4 Aces. Playing DDB could not connect on Aces. Then hit 4 holding lone Ace, few hands later hit 4 holding lone Ace. So, I said self.....if you are dealt a pair of Aces pitch one.

Sent you a text on Sunday afternoon, saying we were going to be @ Caesars that night. WTG on the RF hits.

Bob, if you missed the Diana Ross concert, you missed a really great show. Her band was fabulous, and for being in her late 60's, her voice was much better than I had anticipated.
I thought the 'Food Coupons" were kind of hokey - just give me a food credit on my hotel bill. My host picked up our food and airfare anyway. Slot tournament was an after-thought on their part, and a waste. Pool party was nice, but not enough seating room. I was forced to stand next to the dancer in the pic I included above.
The Sunday Brunch @ Nero's was very good. The boat ride Sunday afternoon was a little lame, but we drank our way through it.
I wish that I would have known you were there, Bob. I would have challenged you on the Five Star Poker 9/7 TDB machine.

Sorry no text came through. We left at 3pm Sunday. Guess it was like two ships passing in the night.

Was the $120 food credit good at the beach bars. I can eat at the Diamond Lounge's and have a few drinks at the beach bar and listen to a band.
