Biloxi Excellent Adventure
Just returned from a fun-filled Biloxi trip. Weather stayed nice, and the casinos were friendly. Came in 2nd in my Beau Rivage golf tournament - $7000 in FreePlay. Gotta love those casino golf events.
No RFs or even Aces/kckr this trip, but got a gaggle of TTFs/kckr playing TDB that kept me in the winning column for the trip. This dealt one was the best of the bunch.

Thanks, Galeygoo. From what I hear, though, Tiger doesn't listen to anybody.

Billy that was a sweet deal. That puts or keeps you ahead for the year I hope.
A golf tourney that hands out free play for prizes? Never heard of that before. Is it common?

Yes, the prizes for all the casino golf events that I have played in are paid as Table Play chips or slot FreePlay. They cannot be exchanged directly for cash. There are no taxes or W2Gs/1099s involved in these prizes, which would happen if they paid in cash.
If you choose the table play chips, they are special chips, good for one-time, even money bets, such as blackjack, red/black in roulette or the pass line on craps. The FreePlay option is just like any other FreePlay that you may get, and is good on any slot or VP machine that will accept FP. At the Beau Rivage, an MGM property, they put it right on your Players Card.
I usually run the FP through, playing about a third on high-denom, big payout slots (never seem to hit), and the rest on VP. When the FreePlay is exhausted, I cash out the tickets. I netted about $4600 cash from the $7000 FP this time around.

Good Luck KJohn. I am planning to be back at the Beau around July 20th for another golf event. That is a Friday, so I will probably stay the weekend and play some additional golf.
The VP machines that I usually play at the Beau are several banks of slant-tops between the bar and the Hi-Limit area. There are also some uprights to the right of the table games as you walk in. They are all multi-denom, multi-line, and have TDB on them. There are single line dollar machines scattered around the floor, including a bank in non-smoking by the Poker Room.
I do not play at IP, since I do not have any status there. My Biloxi play is at the Beau (MGM - NOIR), Grand (Harrahs/Caesars - 7Star) and The Palace (a stand-alone, non-smoking casino that made me a Prime Player Card level right out of the gate in order to get some of my play).
All three of these properties have nice golf courses associated with them, which comp free rounds of golf every month to their top tier players.
